I would rather die than connect Meta to anything in my house. Holy shit.

Reminds me of that tweet: "Tech enthusiasts: My entire house is smart. Tech workers: The only piece of technology in my house is a printer and I keep a gun next to it so I can shoot it if it makes a noise I don't recognize."

This rocks, thanks for the update :)

Neat tool, needs a demo site. I ain't running a stranger's code on my computer to experience what is basically an amusing curio
calldacopsidc··on I Gave My Life over to Meta's A.I. Agent and Was Blown Away
I handed the wolf a set of keys to my hen-house and was blown away!

Why, in a million years, would I trust Meta with ANY aspect of my life, let alone allow it to drive my whole digital presence?

Sorry to get hung up on what is probably just flavor text, but the first sentence.. "Agents can oneshot games that are actually fun", uhhh such as?

Would love to be proven wrong here, feels like I've just seen the same basic one-level kart racer in like 3 model announcements. Not even sure if they were one-shotted, I certainly would not describe them as "fun"

calldacopsidc··on Save the Constitution. Ditch the ABA
I'm impressed the author made it as far into the article as he did before crying wolf about liberal brainwashing.

"Abolish [regulatory body] for being an indoctrination engine, so we can do our own indoctrination!" I would expect nothing less from the so-called "university" that asked Peter Thiel to come lecture students about the antichrist [1]. Fascinating stuff, yall. Imagine having this much funding and still being the 5th-worst college in Austin.

calldacopsidc··on We know what a world without work looks like
If the author wanted to write a purely historical essay she is more than welcome to. Instead she chose a framing device of a post-work society thanks to AI that I think undermines the whole article.

"Aristocrats are (typically) rich, which we certainly will be if we have robots capable of all normal nonrelational labor." ...okay

calldacopsidc··on We know what a world without work looks like
This was posted a week ago and I'll just reiterate what I said there..

As an American why should I believe a word of this, when our country's Overton window ranges from "lip service" to "open contempt" for the unemployed? How can I feel confidence for my economic future when, in less than a decade, the frontier AI labs have abandoned any semblance of caution and are embracing a lobby for fewer guardrails? When "move fast, break things" is applied to the "mass cognition replacement machine"?

Filing this entire article under "I'll believe it when I fucking see it". The pollyannic nonsense is willfully ignorant and only serves to excuse more concentration of wealth and the mass theft of leverage from the average worker.

calldacopsidc··on A Meta engineer's guide to surviving the coming tribulation
It's refreshing getting to read something on HN that's completely utterly insane, but 100% unrelated to AI. Nice change of pace

also.. OP if you're reading this I'm sorry you didn't get raptured

calldacopsidc··on Awed, Scared and Humbled
Fascinating, an anonymous post about a coding model most of us can't even use. Ends with a direct plea to the reader to subscribe to Codex. Blog has been up for 2 weeks. You cannot convince me this isn't more marketing BS like we saw with Fable just a few months ago.

We were promised cures for cancer and solutions for climate change. Instead, every model announcement has a clone of a kart racer. Great stuff y'all

calldacopsidc··on Tesla Cybercab Tech Details – Initial Findings (Out of Spec Reviews)
Not sure why the "launch" event is now... we've had these on the streets for months here in Austin.

Speaking from firsthand experience it is ungodly how awful they look. The matte steel finish of the cybertruck appears even cheaper when it's gold, and the solid hubcaps get dented completely to shit. I'm surprised you don't throw a "sieg heil" to hail one down.

On the other hand, we have a lot of traffic here and it's nice having cars on the road that I don't feel bad about cutting off.
