Espressif ESP32-C5 packaged by Meta for smart home things. Open source software/firmware.

Kinda wonder about the security implications. Seems like sharing the firmware/software is a good start. However: "Muse Home Link itself only runs official firmware and can’t be reflashed"

Feels like we'll get pervasive, instrumented smart homes very soon. And probably need a lot of security to go with it.

https://x.com/natfriedman/status/2106099384891158562: "We manufactured a batch of 5000 Home Links which should be ready to ship in a few weeks, and they are free for Muse subscribers while supplies last."

I would rather die than connect Meta to anything in my house. Holy shit.

Reminds me of that tweet: "Tech enthusiasts: My entire house is smart. Tech workers: The only piece of technology in my house is a printer and I keep a gun next to it so I can shoot it if it makes a noise I don't recognize."
