bwbw223··on Ask HN: What do you do on an Android phone that cannot be done on an iPhone?
That’s just because it’s not released/stable yet. Its developers have made the decision to make it only available as a TestFlight beta, not Apple.

> I'm sorry, can you point to that "fricking physical keyboard" on my iPhone? I'll wait.

Well, you have the digitizer, but since the buttons are highlighted when pressed, the display would work as well.

bwbw223··on Apple is now a privacy-as-a-service company
An iPhone 7 is still perfectly usable, in my experience. They also should still be supported for a while. Used, they can easily be found around the $200 price point.

Would you not need three sensors? With only two, wouldn’t it be difficult to determine which is correct?

bwbw223··on Image optimization decreased website's page weight by 62%
svgcleaner is supposed to be faster and have a better compression ratio than svgo: https://github.com/RazrFalcon/svgcleaner

It also has a GUI.

bwbw223··on Ask HN: Is it a good time to switch to Ubuntu 18.04 desktop?
Maybe you would enjoy i3 if you spend lot of time with terminal windows.

It’s a little scary at first, but 4 major key combos are all you need.

mod+enter: open terminal

mod+d: open launcher; the default is dmenu, but rofi is amazing.

mod+h: split horizontally when opening next window

mod+v: above but vertically

I personally have a setup with i3-gaps, rofi, and polybar: https://u.cubeupload.com/Bwbw223/170E026006774C45A65E.png

It’s a bit ugly stock, though...

bwbw223··on Bitcoin Hash Rate Rapidly Growing Despite Price
Not with bitcoin - ASICS are the only profitable way to mine. They only work on sha256 coins, and generally crypto currencies that use the same POW have similar difficulty/profitability.

It collects it for the purpose of building a better advertising profile of you- so it can make more money from ads. It’s still using my data about me and making money off of it.
bwbw223··on The Surface Book 2 is everything the MacBook Pro should be
It’s not to directly run iOS apps, but to make it easy to adapt them.

We also don’t have any evidence of a change in processors.

Please stop presenting speculation as facts.
