busymom0··on Breaking Up with Google Play: Why Conversations Is Now Free
Ive heard that but not sure if true. I've been building and submitting apps for 15 years and have multiple approved and maintained apps in the store. (I am the developer of Hack, one of top hacker news clients on iOS and Android).

Though mine is not a "company" account.

busymom0··on Breaking Up with Google Play: Why Conversations Is Now Free
Adding to this- Apple charges me $138 per year membership and the latest app took 3 weeks for review. Used to be very fast before (under 24 hours) but lately it's very long for new apps.
busymom0··on F-Droid 2.0
Shameless plug: I am the developer of Hack, available on both iOS and Android which has a toggle to block AI posts. Maybe you'd find it useful?
busymom0··on Creatine uptake enhances antitumor immunity
I've been taking 10g of creatine monohydrate by the Allmax brand for 16 years and it's always been great. That brand has been around for a long time, is well reputable and decent price ($40 for 1kg tub on amazon Canada).

I somehow missed the pics where one of the arms had a cable attached to a battery

How is it powered? External battery? Or what's the built in battery life like?

Doesn't Quebec have it's own slightly different constitution than the Canada wide one? If I remember right, there's been cases where things aren't allowed per Canada Charter but are allowed per Quebec's own one.
busymom0··on Show HN: Hack – my Hacker News mobile client now lets you block AI posts
The update for the built-in browser issue got approved by Google and is now available on the Play Store. Please give it a try and let me know if you have any issues!
busymom0··on People hooked on vapes try a new way to quit: cigarettes
People are even vaping on public transit nowadays. Never seen that for smoking.
busymom0··on Show HN: Hack – my Hacker News mobile client now lets you block AI posts
Coincidence that I literally just submitted an update for that issue earlier today (along with the AI related post block feature). It's still waiting for Google's approval. Hopefully be approved tomorrow or so.

If you email me from the app (or my email address in my HN profile), I can notify you as soon as the update is approved.

busymom0··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
The App Store app is filled with ads. The search in particular shows 2 full screen height ads now before results.
busymom0··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
Today, I emailed Craig Federighi about the ads in App Store search results as well as Apple Intelligence models eating up 30 GB on my Mac mini despite it being turned off.

Let's see if anyone listens.

busymom0··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
Same problem here too. I have a game called "Unscramble!" and it's impossible to find it with that name. I have scrolled for many pages and can't find it. Meanwhile, many very old apps which haven't been updated in many years are showing in the results.
busymom0··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
I am a small developer on iOS and the App Store Search ads are super frustrating. When users search for my exact app name, apple shoves 2 full screen ads on top of the search results. Sometimes, it's 1 search results sandwiched in between 2 ads which makes the user miss it because they scrolled past the ads.

Often these ads are entirely unrelated to what user is searching for. And small developers are being discouraged when big companies are spending millions in ads to rank above them.

Also, most of the times, the ads are for apps I will never download. I constantly see ads for the Temu app which I will never use. Yet, there's no "don't show this ad again" button.

busymom0··on I said no and Apple said yes
I develop apps and I needed to upgrade to install the latest Xcode and simulators.
busymom0··on Turn off and restrict access to Apple Intelligence features on Mac
My "system data" is taking up 193 GB.

Is my Mac doing something wrong here? Anyway to see what's inside?

busymom0··on Overdue library magazine returned after 132 years
Unfortunately, no photo of said magazine. This is cool though:

> This magazine, it looks nothing like anything you'd see on newsstands today. For one thing, it's over 200 pages long with a marbled hard cover.

busymom0··on Hooli billboard off of 101
They'd had so much material to go on now. Someone should use AI to create it.
busymom0··on Xcode 27.1 Beta Release Notes
Duo users also likely have disposable income to spend on in app purchases, maybe click on ads to purchase things, and other monetization. So I do think it's worth building for it.
busymom0··on Xcode 27.1 Beta Release Notes
Developer here. Apple often rejects app submissions if the app doesn't look optimized for some iPhone device or iPad device. So won't be surprised if they reject new apps and updates for not being optimized for the Duo. This could be their way of getting developers to comply.
busymom0··on GitHub is having trouble counting things
The chat notifications count badge on Reddit website has the same problem for me. Tells me I have messages when I don't. Or won't tell me I have messages when I do.
busymom0··on The Google Play app review process now regularly takes longer than a week
Has it ever happened where your submission goes to review and then just sits in the "In Review" state for many days? I am talking 4-5 days? or sometimes longer than a week? And then it gets approved?

That's been happening randomly to me.

busymom0··on The Google Play app review process now regularly takes longer than a week
I've had same experience. Brand new iOS apps are taking weeks. My latest all took 3 weeks to get reviewed and approved. Updates to existing apps are fast though (1-2 days).

Also, sometimes, apps will go in review and then just stay in that state for 3-4 days before approval. No idea why.

busymom0··on Swift 6.4 Released
I am building the backend of a social media app I am making in Swift. I've previously used Vapor for the web server but right now, I am trying out Hummimgbird.

Has anyone tried either? Would love to hear your experience with them.
