The doomers aren't the one investing billions, so I think they're a slightly lower cause for concern than the ones significantly reshaping the economy.
You're right, but American models aren't super different in that regard. Ask an American model about Israel and you can immediately tell they're responding in a different manner to other queries. At least with open-weights models you have the opportunity to tune them, to decensor them, and so on.
It's good because it's an actual standard instead of 7/27 which is backwards for half the world. Besides, I'm actually from the future and they delayed the model a year, learning from Anthropic that good models are actually about to bring the end of society.
Yes, you're paying the cache read, not the cache write, which is much more expensive. You can do the math for how many 5min refreshes you can be afk for until it starts costing instead of saving
There isn't, I think the point is in terms of how "far ahead" models are, K3 was likely trained much more recently than Mythos was. It's just something to note, it's not especially prescriptive.
Mythos was withheld because of the threat to security and/or marketing stunt (depending on your leaning), I don't see what benefit there could be for not releasing K3 immediately.
Look at how far OpenAI has drifted from their original mission. Everything comes back to greed, so it's ideal for the world if selfish motives happen to coincide with what's good for the world, like advancements in open models
Really wish we could go back to saying "cryptocurrency", it is incredibly depressing that the world has decided that "cryptocurrency" is more relevant than "cryptography"...
I don't click share buttons because I don't know what it's going to do. I don't want something copied that says "Check out this Thing on this Site! <url>" because then I have to delete half of it at which point it's slower than copying the URL. If every share button had the same behaviour then maybe I would.
Surely not coincidental with having unprecedented access to a global network of people to reach, worse economic opportunities than any other living generation and limited means to change matters on their own, and the USA which is the largest exporter of global culture has GoFundMe as an essential part of its healthcare system
Enterprise market is paying by token and using a lot of tokens. Consumer market is paying a subscription that they can't raise too high or they'll lose users to competition. Seems to me that the enterprise market scales a lot higher.
They have the consumer market but want the enterprise market, because it's a lot more lucrative, so they're probably going to just keep chasing that even though there's no signs they'll stop losing to Anthropic. They don't need to do that much to keep the consumer market because of momentum.
You can but that doesn't help you keep the flood of contributions out when you don't have the time or resources to properly discern good from bad. Maintainers would rather have 10 good human authored patches than 100 patches from LLMs, even if 20 of them are good. Even if 50 of them are good, probably.
