brighton36··on Interest surges in top colleges, while struggling ones scrape for applicants
I didn't know that. But, I'm not surprised. It's entirely possible that Ted Kaczynski is the plato we're looking for.
brighton36··on Letters from House members to cable providers [pdf]
There's nothing more just than vengeance.
brighton36··on Interest surges in top colleges, while struggling ones scrape for applicants
That probably has more to do with 'greatness' as a product of the publishing system. (Meaning: it's great because it's published in a prestigious medium, not because the content is inherently superior) The next plato will likely be completely uncelebrated in these mediums, and will publish on an uncelebrated website or publisher.
brighton36··on Nano is what Bitcoin hoped to be
Bitcoin hoped for number go up. Is nano number go up? Bitcoin is number go up...
brighton36··on Bitcoin surpasses $50K as major companies jump into crypto
Bitcoin is the most complicated idea known to man: number go up.
brighton36··on The Michael Scott Theory of Social Class
It's very odd that 'baby talk' is professional. I don't think society was always this way. I also respect anyone who questions why this is the case. Assuming it's an efficiency, we should be able to justify this behavior.
brighton36··on The Environmental Cost of Bitcoin
Bitcoin is a thneed. Everyone needs a thneed.
brighton36··on Smart contracts on Bitcoin
All blockchains are secured by trust in the developers. Proof of work is merely a way to buy their token from a power company. All of the problems with have with online contention, will manifest in blockchain for this reason.
brighton36··on FBI warns of plans for nationwide armed protests next week
Respectfully, you should consider that the media is probably lying to you in regards to 'what it is that trumps election fraud believers, believe'

Most of the believers I've talked to believe 'the rules were changed in the middle of the game' wrt mail-in voting, and such. These believers also believe that foreign interference distorted the results. (Both parties agree to this, I think)

We will now be in a perverse situation where both sides will think the election results are fraudulent, if their side lost. I think it's an unsolvable problem. Because reform would necessarily be a partisan endeavor, without legitimacy in that party.

We're unrepresentable now, best I can tell.

brighton36··on FBI warns of plans for nationwide armed protests next week
You should consider asking them why.
brighton36··on YouTube bans Steve Bannon's podcast channel
It would really help if there were ages attached to our profiles. I'm starting to think there's a generational component to these values. Not that younger or older is better. I'd, just like to know why this became such a disconnect in the population, all of a sudden...
brighton36··on YouTube bans Steve Bannon's podcast channel
These are opinions though. It may be untrue, but you're going to find yourself with a ministry of truth. "Who decides" who gets charged with the crime. These opinions can be entertained. After all, most trump supporters are clearly enraged by democrats.
brighton36··on Twitter deletes China embassy's Xinjiang 'emancipation' tweet
Probably not. If 'everyone knows' the TOS is merely a conspiracy thrust upon 'us'. Then, it'll cease being enforceable. Respect for the rules is not required. It's merely a courtesy society offers, when the rules are 'fair'.
brighton36··on US intelligence agencies have 180 days to share what they know about UFOs
There is no professional opinion on this matter. I find this so entertaining.
brighton36··on Twitter deletes China embassy's Xinjiang 'emancipation' tweet
If it's not superficial, it's offensive. Only prestigious people are licensed to have an opinion that's not superficial.
brighton36··on Twitter deletes China embassy's Xinjiang 'emancipation' tweet
Twitter runs on public infrastructure. It's beholden to the community in the same way trucks are.
brighton36··on Twitter deletes China embassy's Xinjiang 'emancipation' tweet
No one reads the tos. Clicks are not agreements.
brighton36··on Cracks in US nuclear command and control
That pledge is as good as toilet paper. Don't be so naive. (And that's not because they're chinese. All governments would immediately disregard such pledges at the time it was deemed necessary to strike first)
brighton36··on Apple has threatened to ban Parler from the App Store
What makes the legal route legitimate is a negotiation in society. If the legal route is rescinded, then, the courts will be considered illegitimate. Perhaps that's right. But, that's also how revolutions start.
brighton36··on DOJ Argues: US can kill own citizens without review when state secrets involved
If we're not willing to protect our rights, then, this is what we deserve.
brighton36··on Why are boys academically underperforming? [audio]
If you don't defend your privilege, you lose it. This is what men deserve, if they're so easy steamrolled.
brighton36··on Self-driving vehicles against human drivers: Equal safety is far from enough
Doesn't this 5x requirement hurt more people than (say) 1.00001x? What am I missing here...

brighton36··on California Public Utilities Commission fired director who exposed missing $200M
Professionalism is nihlism. It's mostly the same thing. Hence why it's improper to exclaim.
brighton36··on Writing a custom iterator in modern C++
C/C++ may be better understood as a template processing system around assembly.
brighton36··on I prepared for a decade to graduate in CS in three months
It really seems like an a society, we should just offer habitus reform schools in deficient precincts..
brighton36··on I prepared for a decade to graduate in CS in three months
That I get. Habitus is important. But, here, there was no transmission of habitus, due to the online courses.
brighton36··on I prepared for a decade to graduate in CS in three months
Degrees certify habitus.
brighton36··on I prepared for a decade to graduate in CS in three months
