breul99··on OpenAPI v4 (aka Moonwalk) Proposal
There are various tools that will do some of this, utoipa [1] for rust and play-swagger [2] for scala + play that I've used in the past and enjoyed. They generate a significant portion of your spec for you, then a client can be generated from the spec.

Yes it is?
breul99··on Get Smart with SmartOS
I wanted to like SmartOS, but the documentation for Arch really had me spoiled. The Joyent/SmartOS docs are a mess of information for different versions that really aren't conducive to a confident first time user. That and it had problems with a pretty vanilla supermicro build. It did pick up my linux ZFS pool without a problem though, which was a nice surprise.
breul99··on Why I Fell in Love with Arch Linux (2015)
In my experience this is no longer the case, anecdotal of course.
breul99··on Songbird: Spatial Audio Encoding on the Web
Such a solid media player for it's time.
breul99··on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon review
I'm fairly happy with my t540p, even has a socketed CPU for replacement. They're fairly cheap on eBay right now because they just came off lease from some larger companies.
breul99··on Ryzen is for Programmers
I still don't really see the pro to Ryzen in this case. It would be cheaper/better to get a couple used sandy bridge era (or newer in some cases) xeons off ebay with a dual socket motherboard in the multithreaded case, or get an i7-7700 for single threaded performance while still having a reasonable amount of cores+threads to play with.
breul99··on Razer targets perfect Linux support
This is for their razor blade laptop, are you really going to avoid their entire line up because of that?
breul99··on Schneiderman: Spectrum-Time Warner defrauded customers on internet service
I can't wait for the day when ISPs are held accountable for failing to provide the speeds we pay for.

Most EULAs prohibit it, probably not.

breul99··on Warcraft fans' fury at Blizzard over server closure
It is that easy, Nost did it. The WoW clients run perfectly fine on modern machines.
breul99··on Warcraft fans' fury at Blizzard over server closure
Have you played the current version of WoW and the vanilla version? They are radically different games. Those who were playing on nost were _never_ going to pay to play retail as it exists now. Blizzard cannot lose business to a private server that the would have never had in the first place.

"... way to get really cheap domains that I can turn a very generous profit on via domain parking"

Lost all respect for the author once I read that. Squatting on domains and making people who want to legitimately use the domains pay far above market rate is ridiculously scummy.

breul99··on Reverse-engineered Linux driver for the Broadcom 1570 PCIe webcam
Apple has rather draconian anti-reverse engineering fine prints in most of their eula.
breul99··on Russian researchers expose breakthrough U.S. spying program
One would imagine that raid cards would be an equally appealing attack vector.
