break_the_bank··on Regression to the Mean: on LLMs and the quiet death of the new
impossible to read through this, ironically the entire page feels ai generated.
break_the_bank··on SpaceX says it has agreement to acquire Cursor for $60B
really happy for the Cursor team but at the same time disappointed that the biggest non-lab AI company couldn't exist on their own.

shows how intense the power laws are around ai and how much of a capital game it is.

break_the_bank··on AI may be making us think and write more alike
Wrote about this a while ago actually; I called it the Billion Steve problem - https://x.com/gyani1595/status/2034652087494090829
break_the_bank··on Glaze by Raycast
It is interesting how so many different companies end up converging to some sort of AI coding.

Raycast -> Glaze AirTable -> Lovable Competitor Retool -> Lovable Competitor

Even those early in the journey are converging towards coding.

break_the_bank··on Saaspocalypse Survival Scanner
very cool project. maybe we should pivot.
break_the_bank··on Cowork: Claude Code for the rest of your work
We’re building something very similar but with files in the cloud instead.

Try it https://tabtabtab.ai

Would love some feedback!

break_the_bank··on Is America's jobs market nearing a cliff?
We’re hiring software engineers, full stack (frontend leaning). Email me at gyani at tabtabtab dot ai if you are in London and looking for onsite roles.
break_the_bank··on Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues
Spoke too soon. The "internet" is down again.
break_the_bank··on Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues
Update: It seems to be back, the downtime lasted maybe 5-6 minutes
break_the_bank··on Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues
Ands its back. It was a very short window to look out of the window.
break_the_bank··on Claude for Excel
I forgot to add, you can try TabTabTab, without installing anything as well.

To see something much more powerful on Google Sheets than Gemini for free, you can add "try@tabtabtab.ai" to your sheet, and make a comment tagging "try@tabtabtab.ai" and see it in action.

If that is too much just go to ttt.new!

break_the_bank··on Claude for Excel
hey Collin! I am working on an AI agent on Google Sheets, I am curious if any of your designs are out in the public. We are trying to re-think how diffs should look like and want to make something nicer than what we currently have, so curious.
break_the_bank··on Claude for Excel
I would recommend trying TabTabTab at https://tabtabtab.ai/

It is an entire agent loop. You can ask it to build a multi sheet analysis of your favorite stock and it will. We are seeing a lot of early adopters use it for financial modeling, research automation, and internal reporting tasks that used to take hours.

break_the_bank··on OpenAI ChatKit
haha, shameless plug but if you use Google Sheets you can try adding `try@tabtabtab.ai` to the sheet as an editor, tagging it and giving it work
break_the_bank··on I only use Google Sheets
This is a very interesting read, we are building Cursor for Google Sheets and the variance of use-cases we see is insane.

1. A lot of people are creating dashboards / CRMs - either they don't have any one selling them verticalized Software or its too expensive. 2. Some people have verticalized Software and they use Sheets so that they can share data with others without paying for per seat SaaS while not worrying about what the new members can read/write into 3. Lots of financial modeling and planning - From a chain of Cafe's in Laos, to Startups raising funding. 4. Lots of teachers trying to do scheduling for their school while ensuring that the teachers get enough of a break. We have seen this in Colombia, the US and Italy 5. A lot of market research and enrichment

A Spreadsheet really is the IDE of a billion people. You can try us here https://tabtabtab.ai/

break_the_bank··on AI capex is so big that it's affecting economic statistics
I’m curious which was the model you used when you ran into the cd-ing bug?

I’d give building with sonnet 4 a fair shot. It’s really good, not accurate all the time but pretty good.

break_the_bank··on ChatGPT agent: bridging research and action
Shameless product plug here - If you find yourself building large sheets, it doesn't really end with the initial list.

We can help gather data, crawl pages, make charts and more. Try us out at https://tabtabtab.ai/

We currently work on top of Google Sheets.

break_the_bank··on OpenAI’s Windsurf deal is off, and Windsurf’s CEO is going to Google
i don't think it was better than or comparable to cursor at all. except for the month prior to the OpenAI Acquisition news where some minor influencers on X were calling it better.

if it was better it would have survived.

break_the_bank··on The Sky's the limit: AI automation on Mac
i am building in a similar space, while i see where you are coming from I am extremely curious on what "a mind blowing" or "i need that" experience looks like to you from a desktop AI product
break_the_bank··on The Sky's the limit: AI automation on Mac
I will email you with the link, we don't have that bit automated. Here it is in the meantime - https://tabtabtab.ai/tabtabtab.dmg
break_the_bank··on The Sky's the limit: AI automation on Mac
Shameless plug here - we are working in a similar space, and have started at the copy & paste layer. We are calling it TabTabTab[0]; while we have a waitlist as we are working on our onboarding, you can already give it a go on[1]

The main actions are option+c to copy, option+v to paste. Take the front page of hackernews and capture it with option+c (use cmd+a to select all, if text is selected we pickup text, otherwise we pickup an image); and then go to sheets.new or numbers and hit option+v, see your Spreadsheet getting built. It works everywhere.

There's spells option+s (custom GPT per app / URL) and agent mode (option+I) but give magic copy/paste a shot. More examples here[2]

break_the_bank··on The case against conversational interfaces
shameless plug here but we have been building in a similar space. We call it tabtabtab.ai - https://tabtabtab.ai/

The core loop is promptless ai that’s guided by accessibility x screenshots & it’s everywhere on your Mac.

You can snap this comment section or the front page and we’ll structure it for you if it’s a spreadsheet or write a tweet if you’re on Twitter.

break_the_bank··on Hamming, "You and your research" (1995)[video]
Heard Sam Altman mention this in a talk he had on the YCombinator channel. Decided to listen to it, such a brilliant talk.
break_the_bank··on Show HN: MyGuy – Your Personal AI Assistant for Everyday Tasks
That is one interpretation for sure but this was the cheapest way for me(a solo dev) to validate if the problem statement is real or not.

I am more than happy refunding $1 to someone who pays and isn't happy with the results. Otherwise people get 3 free credits.

break_the_bank··on Show HN: MyGuy – Your Personal AI Assistant for Everyday Tasks
Give it a shot! If you sign up there will be three free credits. Even if this fails I will get an idea of what people try to use agents for.
break_the_bank··on Show HN: MyGuy – Your Personal AI Assistant for Everyday Tasks
Hey, right now I am myself the AI in the backend after the initial questionnaire is finished. I wanted to validate the product / need before building out more complexity.
break_the_bank··on Starlark Language
We used Starlark for all of its properties and built a tool[0] that allows you to spin up containers in an imperative programming way on Docker and Kubernetes through Starlark!

It can be pretty cool as you can pass in arguments and get a different set of services based on what you pass in. I like to think of it is an "exe" for a distributed system.

break_the_bank··on Sora: Creating video from text
In less than a few hours Gemini 1.5 is old news. Sam is doing live demos on Twitter while Google just released a blog.

Didn't think Google would be the first of the Facebook, Apple, Google and Microsoft to get disrupted.

break_the_bank··on Weaveworks is shutting down
That makes more sense! Thank you.
break_the_bank··on Weaveworks is shutting down
> The company was turning over double digit revenue and had more than doubled the number of new product logos in 2023.

From the LinkedIn post. Does this mean $100 MRR / ARR ?
