Some companies don't make a difference between personal days and sick days. Both are days where the employer is given little to no notice that you won't be at work that day. Vacation days generally should be planned ahead of time.
I've only once had a doctor test my blood pressure lying flat. I had a suspected GI bleed and he wanted to see the difference between flat and sitting up. Then he called up the hospital and got me a spot reserved in the ICU.
If you're on apple silicon and the VM is x86, I agree the performance is abysmal. I'm pretty sure this is just a QEMU issue and not really the fault of UTM. If your VM is aarch64, the VM performance is amazingly great and I can't recommend UTM enough.
And specifically when you tell the shell to redirect stdout to a file, the shell is opening a file descriptor to handle the request. A file descriptor also sits in the middle for piping stdout for one command to stdin of another. It seems like it's doing magic, but it's not.
Where I live, they're proposing a Single Point Urban
Interchange (SPUI) so that all interstate traffic goes through one set of traffic lights. To make that work, they have to build two flyover ramps to send the northbound traffic over the southbound traffic. https://www.penndot.pa.gov/RegionalOffices/district-11/Publi...
I still have an iPhone 3GS. It's fun to turn it on occasionally to scare the kids. Unsurprisingly some apps no longer function because they need cloud services that were discontinued.
In large parts of New England they use heating oil, which is similar to diesel and pollutes the air more than natural gas. There are many things they could be taking on, but natural gas isn't the worst of them.
But you may have used the Palm OS successor, webOS, which is used by LG smart TVs. It blew me away that Palm OS is still around in some form. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebOS
That would drive my wife up the wall. Our school district in the Pittsburgh suburbs has 5 math tracks from grades 4-12. They just added linear algebra because so many kids were maxing out the available math curriculum.
15 years ago a foreigner couldn't even get a hotel room in Thailand without handing over passport information for each guest. I can't imagine it's changed much since then. If the Thai police want to track you down it wouldn't be very hard.
The only thing I did with my Mazda infotainment system was update the firmware and the retrofit kit to support CarPlay. I find the commander knob not that hard to use with some experience, but with the AIO tweaks you can enable the touchscreen while driving. To each their own I guess.
I had a friend in high school who found it funny to hand unsuspecting people a fully charged capacitor he pulled from a camera flash. This was 30 years ago, before "modern electronics", so the charge lasted longer than a few seconds. Why this never started a fight I don't know.
Oh, the police will get a search warrant, and find exactly what they were told would be on your device. The police aren't in the business of discovering your innocence. It's then up to you and your lawyer to prove you didn't put it on your device. Meanwhile your life will fall apart as you get fired, your wife divorces you, you lose all custody of your kids, etc.
