That book is freely available from its author in pdf format already… but I guess it’s about the journey?

That’s quite an interesting take. You don’t think Europe doing more trade with China (I assume this is what cozying up means?), is a result of a wildly unpredictable trade policy and threats to invade Europe? Instead because the US with their global military presence are sick of footing the bill for it?

You’ll get cheaper oil though I guess?

But why are they in humanoid form? Wheels are more efficient than legs, they have no need for a face. It sure does sound like vibes
bovinejoni··on Why DuckDB is my first choice for data processing
I could anecdotally tell you it’s significantly faster and more concise for my workloads, but it’s a standalone executable so just try it out and benchmark for your use case. It doesn’t require fine tuning or even a learning curve

Had Kamala instead campaigned on curing cancer and making all Americans billionaires, you would have voted for her instead?

Being a Haitian immigrant is an immutable characteristic. That aside, these were legal immigrants welcomed by the city and assimilating into the community, used as a scapegoat with a baseless conspiracy to stir anger on a campaign trail. I’m not sure what about this incident is defensible but it has nothing to do with culture. Are you being intentionally provocative or do you really believe this?

Thanks for sharing. Seems your issues are more with databricks than R, but certainly R is more obscure.

At least in my experience we’ve never had issues with people learning it on the job and far fewer software issues from eg versioning, dependencies, regression bugs. It just works, there’s rarely even a need for a venv.

I’d never expect it applied as a general purpose language like python though, typical projects are <1k lines of some specific data task, perhaps our use cases are just different

Can you elaborate please? This hasn’t been my experience whatsoever, curious what the issues have been

Surge pricing to settle stock trades? Obviously this is worse than the existing tech

To trade you need to be registered by regulated entity, it’s already a centralised environment. You’re also purchasing shares issued by a centralised issuer, the corporation. Your suggestion that bitcoin offers any solution to settlement (much less a superior solution), just escapes me

bovinejoni··on Bitcoin Falls Below $20k for the First Time Since 2020
Right. So long as rising interest rates, regulatory crackdown, environmental awareness, defrauded investors and a proliferation of competitors don’t affect your thesis of “buy the dip”
bovinejoni··on Bitcoin Falls Below $20k for the First Time Since 2020
How is that a realistic assumption? The infrastructure goes dark as soon as the mining incentives disappear. You own an internet relic, a MySpace page

Except for the possibility of unconfirmed transactions if the network is under load right? With both centrally registered clients and counterparts what’s the case for decentralisation here again?
