boveyking··on Is AI used in school system and how are they implementing it
I saw a post of Matt Shumer from AlphaSchool to use Opus 5 as AI tutor today . It seems the private schools move much faster.

But for public schools, there are lots of red tape and concerns to use AI, especially for students.

AI to boost staff and teachers' productivity seems well received.

boveyking··on What happens behind the scenes when we change effort for same LLM models?
You have a restaurant and have 2 types of chef.

One is the sous chef , who knows recipes and cooks fast, handle most dishes as quick as possible. He does not think much. That is your medium effort llm in charge.

One is the head chef, who is inspecting, pause, consider edge case. Slower but catches what sous chef missed. That is your high effort llm in work.

boveyking··on Show HN: I built remembered checkout for Voice calls
That is cool and very useful. I like voice and I think it should be a natural interface for the future. Olivia Moore from a16z said yesterday: Over the next decade, our devices + spaces will need to adapt to a voice-controlled world.
boveyking··on Show HN: How well do you use Claude Code?
Yes. That is what I usually do. Like old days' unit test. Write a couple of units and test. I never do plan first then let llm automatically code the entire project.
boveyking··on GPL Infection of LLMs?
You do not need license to date a wonderful girl. But you need license or certificate to marry her.

boveyking··on Ask HN: How much software do you build for yourself these days?
what is BEAM's ideas?
boveyking··on Ask HN: How much software do you build for yourself these days?
I have built software for about 20 years, but most for customers. At that time, stackoverflow was our go to place. I did not visit stackoverflow for years now.

It is really possible to build software by one person. I have built 2 software recently. One is debate platform for high schooler. One is essay inspiration web app. Both for my son.

It was impossible to built with IDE manually in such short time.

We usually love OOP( Object Oriented Programming), now, we are almost becomes YOP( Yes Oriented Programming.)

boveyking··on Ask HN: If OpenAI hacked HuggingFace, why aren't OpenAI prosecuted?
There is a legal gap. The main law people look at is the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), plus state computer-crime laws, contract terms, and general civil claims. However, LLM active attacks do not always fit neatly into existing hacking laws, because the system may be accessed through normal text prompts rather than by breaking into a classic computer boundary. That is why legal commentators say the U.S. still lacks a clean, specific rule for adversarial AI/LLM testing and attacks. In order to prosecuted, there must be prosecutor or complainant to sue, but in this case, it is so complicate due to the legal gap.
