boobsbr··on Source-Available Is Meaningless
Open-source just means you can see the source, as opposed to closed-source, which means you can't see the the source.

The visibility of the source has no bearing if the source can be used, modified, distributed, or if the application is gratuitous or not.

Yeah, lots of software stay on beta or 0.x.x for years.

So, the guy created the project and stayed for about 5 years.

Belgium.

"amenity=phone" returns 15 matches worldwide.

"amenity:phone", "amenity:telephone" or "amenity=telephone" (no other filters) returns the same 2 matches.

EDIT:

Belgacom started removing them in 2013 in Brussels, and the rest of country followed suit. The Belgian regulator found it unnecessary to require them with the ubiquity of mobile phones.

Using:

  (area["ISO3166-1:alpha2"="my_country_code_here"];) -> .a;
    node["amenity"="telephone"].
      (area.a);
      (._;>;);
  out body;
I get 2 hits, one of which says all phones were removed in 2015.

Guess I'll continue not using Signal or Telegram.

boobsbr··on Walmart buying TV-brand Vizio for its ad-fueling customer data
55UJ630V from 2018.

Did a coulpe of updates several years ago, but I got worried it woud install an update with ads, so I turned off automatic updates.

But it kept pestering me, so I unplugged the Ethernet cable and bought a Fire Stick.

Now I'm getting automatic trailers on the Fire Stick when it boots up.

I hate the UI on my LG TV.

I want to play a video game, or connect my laptop to it. The input is already set to the correct HDMI port from previous usage, and it has a video signal on it.

When turned on, the TV still displays an app selection bar a the bottom that never goes away.

Also, I can't tweak the colors, only choose from a few presets. And color calibration is terrible, vivid yellows become some weird color.

> Now, you can connect on Signal without needing to hand out your phone number. (You will still need a phone number to register for Signal.)

Why is it so hard for Signal and Telegram to not require a phone number as an account identifier?

I don't need to verify anything by phone or even email. If I lose the password, the account is lost, so be it. I'll create a new one.

If I really want to, then I'll set up email/phone.

boobsbr··on Do you really need foreign keys?
I worked in different banks for the better part of a decade, lots of internal applications, each with their own DB.

They all had PK/FK/unique/check constraints, and they were still a clusterfuck to understand and maintain. Lots of outright stupid and dangerous code to work around the issues.

Still, if there were no constraints, it would have been even worse, as some 'intelligent' people temporarily disabled constraints to update data, resulting in data integrity hell.

At least I can decide not invest in something if I don't want to risk losing money.
