boniface316··on Ask HN: R or Python? I am a newbie
Hey, I love to work with different languages and expand my knowledge. I wanted to know where should I start and focus initially. I will be interested in learning Python so I can do cool web applications.

PS: I love your blog! I have saved and bookmarked it!

Thanks for the book. I don't know much of a stat theory.

At work, I enjoy working with numbers and data analyzing. I feel like I am "stuck" using excel. I didn't know that subject of data science existed until few weeks ago. I didn't know where to start so I decided to start with MSFT course.

I am fairly new to programming. I have done simple IOT projects. I would happy learning how to program while learning data science stuff.

omg! I would really appreciate that! I have been looking for data science books.

If you don't mind, could you give me your opinion on this course?

boniface316··on Ask HN: Military to tech jobs
I really appreciate your reply TechJuice (cool name). I was thinking of using my security clearance as an advantage with the government contractors! I will check these agencies!

boniface316··on Ask HN: Military to tech jobs
I would love to hear more about the challenge (if exists) you had when leaving the military. I have to agree that military is a comfortable job, but I want to do cool things with companies like Tesla.

I love your story! and thanks for the resume.

I am basic level coder and I have a degree in biological engineering. I haven't practiced Engineering a long time. My strengths are project management or operations. I would love to work for companies like Tesla or Faraday Future.

boniface316··on Ask HN: Military to tech jobs
I love this suggestion! I already contacted couple of veterans who are in the tech industry. Thanks Seymour!

JC, I really appreciate your comment. Your reasons do resonate with me. I will make sure to attend tech resume workshop to translate my resume for the civilian audience.

Did you face any specific challenges when going from bureaucratic environment to corporate? I am not sure about the US Army. I am in the Canadian Army, where we change our position every 2 years. Therefore it doesnt make me specialist in certain position, but I have lot of experience in a leadership role. Is the US Army the same?

boniface316··on Ask HN: How to tell a good friend you don't want to include him in your startup?
One of the biggest reason my startup failed was I included friends who didn't bring value. We kept in the group because he was a good friend, when it came to delivery, he was bad.

Once the business started to fail, we started to fight between each other. We lost our friendship and the business. If I could go back in time, I would have had this chat with him.

On the other side, I talked to a friend of mine who is running a successful business in Toronto. He started his business when I was his room mate in university. I was very bitter that he didn't include me as his business partner. His answers were that I didn't bring value to his business. I am glad he did that, because we are still friends and he is willing to help me with whatever business I start in the future.

boniface316··on Getting sued? troll the other party
You mean on here?
boniface316··on Getting sued? troll the other party
I am out of money to pay the lawyer. I am in the same business but not building the same product. I would tell the judge that I was talking about the current project I am working on. They simply didnt do any searches.

I understand the part about wasting court's time. Thats why I sent a letter saying I have pivotted my business and started working on a different project. I can explain the judge about the buzz I created. It was for my new project.

boniface316··on Getting sued? troll the other party
This is an interesting question. I was promised shares but was given nothing. Therefore the "contract" I have with the company is void. The argument could both ways.
boniface316··on Motion for injunction
I created a competing product. The truth is that I presented my idea and they rejected it and fired me. Now they want a piece of me because they think that they own it.

I dont have any agreement with the company. So I am allowed to make it. Plus I didnt take anything away from them. So I am good!

boniface316··on Motion for injunction
I have an incorporation right now. But they are suing me personally. I have not signed any documents with the other company.

I looked at the motion, it seems like they dont want me to apply for Ycomb!

boniface316··on Motion for injunction
Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the motion it has lot of holes. First I am going to prove thier inconsistency. Then going to say that they are not active and dont want me to act on my oppurtunity. They are a startup too, their money will run out fast!
boniface316··on AWS IoT Beta
AWS and Azure.....I would go with Azure!
boniface316··on Show HN: Wriber – Idea Generator
I am really confused on what excatly it does. Does it generate ways to solve a problem?

I would personally would like to know how many other people have searched what I was looking for. Say I was allergic to peanuts and looking for alternative and I find out there are so many other guys are searching for the same thing....then I know its a common problem.

boniface316··on Ask HN: How to keep up?
Meetup...I think thats the only way.
boniface316··on Startup Cofounders: Have you ever found a cofounder where....
True story happened to my friend. His partner walked away, he kept working on his business. Then his partner came back and took piece of the business. He won, but all the headache he had to go through!
boniface316··on Startup Cofounders: Have you ever found a cofounder where....
My definition of actively waiting is that you keep building something.

Initially me and my co- started building our version of Amazon dash. We helped each other. This allowed me to learn his character and he learned mine.

Then we came up with an idea. While he was taking care of tech, I would simply work on business administration stuff. Also just apply for grants, you dont have to submit it, but you will know how to do it.

boniface316··on Startup Cofounders: Have you ever found a cofounder where....
I agree with you on this. I think me and my co- actively waited for the oppurunity.
boniface316··on Startup Cofounders: Have you ever found a cofounder where....
I would have to say that finding the rught cofounder is the biggest challenge. I worked with friends of mine for 2 years and things fell apart. So choose your cofounders wisely.

Also keep everything very clear between the two. Document everything. My new co-founder is an awesome dude. Since day 1 our chemistry was great, however I got him to sign all the documents just in case.

Here is how things worked with my current co-founder. He wanted to help me build the product I was working on cause it was his passion. He gave me a hand. We didnt think of each other as partners. We just enjoyed working together. He got excited when his proof of concept was well recieved by customers. Then he started to committ take less shifts at work to committ to the project. He acted as my co-founder without even me asking him. Then we agreed to start a business and became co-founders.

Great guy! I love working with him! But to this day, I get everything in document so he knows everything is crystal clear.
