bogdan··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
No? They charge 5.5% (I believe) on every top-up. Which is the equivalent of charging you 5.5% on every request.
bogdan··on GLM Built Its Own Inference Infrastructure
> Maybe my post sounded harsher than I intended

Appreciate the clarification. For me it was the "F" in "WTF" that tipped me. Other than that, it's more than fair for you to not know what GLM is. Things are moving so fast that I would be surprised if anyone can keep track of it all. Cheers, have a grand day!

I don't get the outrage. Do you post this kind of stuff on every topic on hackernews that you are not knowledgeable about?

bogdan··on How the Chorleywood Bread Process transformed British bread
Brits will pop up like snails in the rain to defend this god awful bread. They'll explain to you for the 15th time that it was a necessity back in the day, or how it's cheaper or faster to make or whatever reason they come up with in the moment. Fellow Brits, we know this, it's ok, it's 2026 the ration times are over. It's time to move on or accept reality.

A nutritionist, a dermatologist, a plumber could all say the same about many of the things we do or don't do day to day. There's only so many free "5 minutes" people have in a day.
bogdan··on How Europe is killing makers and micro-entrepreneurs
The tv license is a bad example and it's in many ways better than in Germany or France. In the UK you can declare you do not watch any national tv and you forego the tax. No such luxury in Germany where as far as I know you can't avoid it. In France it's funded through vat and of course it's priced in so everyone pays anyway.

Is there actually a difference in cache rates between OR and official API? I have a preset set up on OR so that I only send traffic to deepseek. The preset is important otherwise you will send traffic to different providers but if you weren't doing this already then what can I say, water is wet, of course cache rates will be awful. I get about 70% cache hit rate with the preset which is appropriate for what I'm doing. I haven't used the official API though.

First of all, I highly doubt it. Second, how would you even know that?

The ii plural is for Latin words. Alexas is perfectly fine in English. And so is octopuses, where you probably first heard about it. No need to over complicate things.
