bogdan··on DeepSeek Introduces Vision
There are other even more efficient ways of doing this, i.e. using images instead of raw text https://xcancel.com/karpathy/status/1980397031542989305?lang...

Hànzì can use 30%-40% fewer tokens than English. So, yes, it probably thinks better in Chinese.
bogdan··on Google Chrome update will close the door on ad blockers
There's so many chromium forks that I can't find one reason to stick with Google Chrome. I hope more people switch. Both Vivaldi and Brave are superior.
bogdan··on The SpaceX IPO Will Be the Theft of the Century
How does one simply reject it? You make it sound oh so easy. As if the taxman is a made up idea.
bogdan··on Danish Pension Blacklists SpaceX over 'Catastrophic Governance'
We are talking about private pensions, right?

bogdan··on Turtle WoW classic server announces shutdown after Blizzard wins injunction
They hired a former dev, guinsoo. At the time when LoL was announced dota was being developed by icefrog for a few good solid years already. Most of dota's popularity happened during icefrog's years. Icefrog later joined valve and helped create Dora 2.
bogdan··on Turtle WoW classic server announces shutdown after Blizzard wins injunction
Dota is a wc3 map but, pendanticism aside, there is no distinction between a "map" and a mod in this context.
bogdan··on Apple accelerates eco progress with highest-ever recycled materials
Excuse my ignorance, I have always been an Android user, but are iPhones not resalable?
bogdan··on EU Migration to and from the UK (Since Brexit)
Fantastic! I propose we should have a common language, you conclude it must be because of fascism. Brilliant take.
bogdan··on EU Migration to and from the UK (Since Brexit)
Entirely agree with you but... Europe not having a common language is one of the things that holds it back from being a stronger competitor against the US and CN. It's just one of the myriad of other things holding EU back.

Whilst you and a few other commentators call this AI slop and refuse to engage with it, the rest of us have read something interesting and learned something new. Is anything gained if one points out that it's written by AI? I personally know it's written by AI but the value outweighs the stylistic idiosyncrasies.

Consider also that many people aren't the best at writing blog-like posts but still have things to share and AI empowers them to do that. I can't find anything constructive in your post and I don't understand why you are posting at all.

bogdan··on Apple Just Lost Me
Amazon Developer sent me an email about this recently. They supported:

* Passport

* Identity Card

* Driver's License

It rejected my Driver's License and I gave up after that.

bogdan··on Apple Just Lost Me
His complaints are that Apple only supports credit cards for age verification. Please read more carefully.
bogdan··on Epic Games to cut more than 1k jobs as Fortnite usage falls
Hearthstone battle pass isn't really comparable to Fortnite cosmetics. Hearthstone is pay 2 win where the majority of new cards are better than old ones.

> there will be nothing really new

How is this the conclusion? Isn't this post about AI solving something new? What am I missing?

bogdan··on JavaScript Is Enough
You can and you can't. There's still plenty of very popular libraries that don't behave correctly with it. That's more on the libraries than on the compiler but that's the current state of things.

bogdan··on Font Smuggler – Copy hidden brand fonts into Google Docs
Have a look at the raw clipboard data with something like https://evercoder.github.io/clipboard-inspector/ and you'll see how it's all set up. A bunch of markup that can be obtained from any google doc with the font name updated.

bogdan··on BYD's cheapest electric cars to have Lidar self-driving tech
The graph has this group which includes mostly Eastern car manufacturer:

> No demonstration of alignment (0-22 points)

What does "no demonstration of alignment" mean in this context?

Eastern companies often don't proactively demonstrate compliance beyond what's legally required, especially to Western NGOs. Does this lack of demonstration actually prove they're violating human rights?
