I personally wouldn't put anything but Ubuntu on a computer that someone else has to use and I have to support. No Arch, Fedora, Suse.
The main reason is that I know it, how to configure it, and when it tends to do silly things. Secondary reason is that Ubuntu is a beginner friendly distro.
Unless you are familiar with Arch/Omarchy and/or have ideological reasons, I don't see the point of putting it on someone else's computer. If articles and videos are hyping it, they are probably wrong or don't apply to your case.
It can kill or force technologies.
For example, made-up numbers, but: 1-2 hours of doom-scrolling daily is okay, as it still leaves time for 1-2 hours of schoolwork at home. 3-4 hours of such doom-scrolling, doom-scrolling between classes or during classes will have a measurable negative effect on your academic knowledge and abilities. (I don't have much information on how US schoolkids live today.)
They certainly could've been more clear about what they want.
Yes, you are missing the point entirely. Merely saying "you could encode a sufficiently constrained 3D space on a 2D boundary" as you correctly noticed, would be meaningless.
The observation is that the 3D space has properties that are weird in 3D but natural in its 2D representation.
> does it matter which is "real"?
No.
Also if you have different representations of something and your job/goal is to think and gain instinct then you should keep in mind all the representations, they very likely will be useful. (An observed property of mathematics is that if a mathematician pours 40 hours per week of work in an area for years in a topic other mathematicians haven't exhausted yet, she will find something there.)
ishouldnotbutk8's message was mostly a joke since your argument would work with 15 days instead of 2. And yes, customers should be protected* against altering the deal.
Especially that it is so so common now, with the wide-spread of IT. Companies just push out malicious updates and changes in terms and conditions.
* they probably already are, but not many people try to bring remote downgrade cases to courts
I am being informed about the public opinion. Which I value more than articles. (Don't come me at with AI, I'm well aware that it makes all human communication bad and pointless in theory and more and more in practice, thx.)
For a counter-example the latter is easier since you can have a tricky external forcefield.
That's a mistake. They should've written "empty set of surreal numbers" and not "nothing".
It is a constructive theory, like sets/ordinals. For ordinals you can use ∅, { }, ∪ and you construct
∅, {∅}, {{∅},∅}, ... (von Neumann ordinals).
For surreal numbers you use the form { A | B } where A and B are sets of surreal numbers. Some restrictions apply so not all of these forms will be surreal numbers. You build up surreal numbers as
{∅|∅}, {∅|{∅|∅}}, {{∅|∅}|∅}
and so on.---
Edit: A happy accident: I denoted the "empty set of surreal numbers" with the symbol ∅. It works, and it gives you the surreal numbers. But if you think of ∅ as the empty set in set theory, then the same construction (using an ordered-pair construction) gives you the surreal numbers as sets!
Otherwise cr*p is just as good as crap, shit, horseshit, poopoo or such.
edit: * replaced with \* as HN interprets asterisks as formatting for emphasis. Thx latexr for informing me

On Linux/X11 even when you run a program sandboxed or as a different user if you use a master Xserver the sandboxed program still can listen and modify all your input/output including keyboard/mouse events and window content of every application.
You interrogate a proof.
1. recall them correctly
2. say they can't recall them
3. recall them incorrectly
Are you asking me a study on when people say they remember something (cases 1 and 3) they are usually right or wrong?Sounds like the left hemisphere usually uses something from the right hemisphere to answer those questions and it can't do that if it's been cut off?
We know that our brains are capable of hallucinating due to substances (drugs), being asleep, brain damage (including split brain), hypnosis, etc. Just as RAM damage make your computer do weird shit. That doesn't mean it operates that way normally.
You can't just remove a huge part of a system and then assume that the whole system behaves the same.
If they've worked some minutes/hours/weeks on something and you ask them why did they do that, they will either answer honestly and truthfully, lie, or say "I missed that/didn't seem important so I just chose something at random".
None of these cases are similar to how AI works.
Kid pasting the question into ChatGPT and pasting its answer back is not the same as an AI teacher persona.
In my mind an AI teacher can be like a traditional education package (syllabus, material, questions, keeping track of progression) but way more flexible. I don't see no reason why AI teachers shouldn't give Bloom's 2 sigma effect to kids (and adults) very soon.
This could work for products too: have webshops add links to verdicts of inspections and also put them on the boxes (in link and QR code form).
