blutgens··on Systemd redux: The end of Linux
haphazard? fragmented? many places for error logs? half-a-dozen ways to configure X?

Have you ever run a linux box? How about dozens or hundreds of them in a production environment? I'm guessing no on both counts based on the nonsense you're spewing forth in your post.

If you don't know what you're talking about, it's best to just keep quiet.

blutgens··on FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE images are available
I'd love to see a LIVE usb stick of this. I'm not really willing to nuke my file systems on my personal laptop only to find out after install that video or wireless card doesn't work right.

FF is awesome, if i wasn't an android guy, I'd be using it exclusively. But chrome <-> android Just Works™

blutgens··on Comcast + Time Warner Cable: Together Is Better
Anyone who believes this to be true needs to see a doctor immediately. Seriously, only someone with some severe cranial injury could believe that.

3 posts about this in less than a minute? Jeez HNN, get some dupe filtering set up already.
blutgens··on Tamper: Chrome devtools extension for capturing and editing HTTP requests
this broke the shit out of my pip install until I nuked all the stuff that got dropped in my /usr/local/lib/python2.7 directory. (linuxmint 14)

Also these instructions don't work straight away on linuxmint 14. I suspect some missing deps or incompatible versions or something.

Just FYI.

I'm sure the tool is awesome though! =)

blutgens··on Poll: Did you “drop Dropbox”?
Dropbox is awesome. Everything else sucks. (Except google drive) which I don't use because a) tons of free space from dropbox due to phone purchases b) simple gui sync client that runs on anything. (yes I know about GRive, it's not the same!)
blutgens··on Why the Ukraine Crisis Is the West’s Fault

blutgens··on Citymapper is what happens when you understand user experience
1. native behaviour in Google Now 2. native behaviour in Google Now 3. native behaviour in Google Now

None of these requires additional configuration, it just does it all automagically.

blutgens··on Citymapper is what happens when you understand user experience
I suppose when you're on an iOS device it doesn't take much improvement in the UX department to get you fired up.
blutgens··on Mono 3.6.0 is out
AND THE CROWD GOES....

"Yawn... what is out? Oh yeah, I think I heard of that..."

blutgens··on BuzzFeed
Kinda hoping they fail miserably, the web does not need any more regurgitated content.

blutgens··on Tech is moving too fast for me: I'm out.
Yeah, it really sucks for you that you work in an ever-changing industry that will keep you gainfully employed and professionally challenged for many years to come and has a history of paying well.

Sucks to be you.

WTF.

blutgens··on Gmail is down
You are a moron.
blutgens··on The Decline and Fall of BIND 10 [pdf]
Nailed it. 100% I'm a believer in python, and even ruby. The problem is that most of my colleagues have no interest in learning a new language. So deploying stuff with it, when there's not enough benefit is really impractical at best, and unnecessarily annoying at worst.
