blue52··on Turnitin and the Debate over Anti-Plagiarism Software (2014)
Good to know thanks
blue52··on Turnitin and the Debate over Anti-Plagiarism Software (2014)
This has been my overall experience with it since it's inception. They have had years to improve, but just like Blackboard, they failed.
blue52··on Turnitin and the Debate over Anti-Plagiarism Software (2014)
This software was absolutely hated by the students. Not only is it difficult to use for some who have trouble with technology, but it would often score a persons paper with wildly inaccurate remarks to the point that the instructor accused the person of cheating. It made many students cry.

Edit: I'm not sure why my comments are coming up as "dead" but only when logged out. Seems like I am shadowbannned, for some odd reason. Might have to make a new account?

blue52··on Stingrays and Dirtboxes: how cops can secretly track your phone
The majority of us are well aware how these devices create a MITM attack against your phone, but is there anything you found particularly interesting or egregious that we should know about? Especially how LE are using them to abuse every group who desperately needs protection from these devices.
blue52··on Americans are getting more nervous about what they say in public
And it's a damn shame. Dangerous as well.
blue52··on DNS-over-TLS vs. DNS-over-HTTPS
Random sites won't load for me like Netflix for some reason. It works with my wired connection for some odd reason though.
blue52··on MI6 tried to intervene independent court by stopping judge seeing legal papers
Well said. It's scary how many thing that get classified that shouldn't be.
blue52··on U.S. eyes building nuclear power plants on the moon, Mars
I remember reading about that in the Wikileaks disclosures, it's fascinating to think about.
blue52··on Huawei Hacked My Laptop
Wow. All he did was install USB drivers and bam!

I would expect it from Huawei, but not exclusive to them.

blue52··on ICE Confirms New Foreign Students Can't Take Online-Only Course Loads in the US
It just increases the value of American's and their assets ever so much. It's very good.
blue52··on ICE Confirms New Foreign Students Can't Take Online-Only Course Loads in the US
Buy it? It does not even need to be pitched because it's true. When American's are struggling to put food on the table it's time to cut all foreign funding.
blue52··on ICE Confirms New Foreign Students Can't Take Online-Only Course Loads in the US
This is good news. Along with cutting the scam H1B visas.
blue52··on 62% of Americans Say They Have Political Views They’re Afraid to Share
I've found the best way is just to accept the silly label if someone accuses you of "racism".
blue52··on Judge rules Seattle media companies must hand over protest images to police
You are right, thanks. I don't live there anymore so that atrocity slipped my mind.
blue52··on Judge rules Seattle media companies must hand over protest images to police
"The judge placed some limits on the subpoena. He said police could use the images to identify suspects only in the arson and gun theft investigations. Detectives could not use the photos or video to pursue suspects in vandalism or other lesser crimes — even if police found such evidence."

Do you, in good faith, honestly believe the police won't attempt to use the evidence for any and all means they deem necessary?

It's like the leaks that came out not too long ago, how even the FBI was querying NSA databases when they suspected someone of being a criminal.... I don't even need to say more to demonstrate how abusive the "law enforcement" (blackmail) system is.

blue52··on Judge rules Seattle media companies must hand over protest images to police
This is a great example of why a "warrant" is nothing other than an abusive fishing expedition.

A "warrant" can be rubber stamped to exfil all of your internet data, phone records, credit card statements, to raid your home or business...

All gestapo techniques. I'm very glad we have encryption and other related technologies that can prevent this type of tyranny.

With all of the tech I design, privacy is the number one priority. That includes being warrant-proof.

blue52··on Who still needs the office? U.S. companies start cutting space
Unless you are a multi-nation megacorp or a specialty who needs dedicated space, I see no reason for the need to waste funds on it.
blue52··on Put tiny businesses back into residential neighborhoods
This would be an amazing solution to implement and would benefit so many who were hurt during this over reach over government into business and private lives.
blue52··on 72% of Americans say social media companies have too much political influence
Yes, they do because they can get away with everything that the other non-"social" companies cannot.
