That is exactly what Apple TV+ is – Apple Originals, basically exclusively, and why it has historically been priced cheaper than other streaming services. They have explicitly not been trying to build up a catalog of non-owned movies and shows. The movies and shows you say are available to buy and rent are not in fact a part of the Apple TV+ service, but are browsable in to the Apple TV app.

There is an associated cloud service called Cleanshot Cloud – all licenses get a small amount of storage for free, or you can upgrade to Unlimited for a monthly subscription.

Alternatively, because it's a great native-first app, you can just set the saving directory to an existing cloud provider on your machine like Dropbox and let it handle uploading and serving the file.

Not GP, but I certainly don't look forward to them. They are also much shorter duration experiences, and I can probably count one one hand the number of times I have shared an elevator with someone tweaking or shitting themselves, vs. the every day experience of seeing that on the bus.

I think when most people use "safe" in this context, they mean "comfortable" or "psychologically comfortable". Nobody enjoys sitting beside someone tweaking and shitting themselves, even if it's perfectly safe.

This is true, but Porkbun couldn't be further from the big registrars like GoDaddy in their approach. It is actually difficult to buy a domain on GoDaddy for most people without getting sucked in to buying extras, whereas Porkbun barely even suggests extras at any point since I've been a user, and what are extras other places are offered for free.

It has gotten better, but it's still a factor. Relatively shortly after launch they switched all processing to only occur when plugged in vs. on battery, which helped from a consumption standpoint.

As far as pure performance I can't speak to it too much; I have a massively overpowered machine (M1 Max w/ 64 gb RAM) for my typical workload (meetings/email/docs) so I don't feel anything.

I believe the meeting transcription is Mac only currently and can be set to automatic (via syncing your calendar and it detecting the meeting automatically) or manual (toggling on and off mic recording).

I do think this type of thing probably drives compliance and security folks mad and will be a barrier to adoption in many companies. All of my work is client-based rather than traditional FTE which largely gets me out of that sort of thing.

I have been a Rewind user on the Mac for months and on the iPhone (beta) for a few days now, and there are basically no tools in the past few years that have changed the way I work this much.

I get a transcription and summary for every meeting that I'm in. The summary fairly reliably captures all main points, and definitely enough to job my memory on anything else. It gets action items.

I use Ask Rewind constantly – "who mentioned X in a meeting last week", "what did Joe say was his top priority for Q3", "was I reading about project X in Notion, Slack, or Jira last month" ... all questions Rewind handles well.

It just makes me a better colleague. I am a bad note taker, and this allows me to be more present and engaged in meetings because I have zero stress about forgetting something.

It's not perfect by any means; I wish transcription was more accurate and things like that, but all it needs is marginal improvement in a bunch of areas and we're so early. Such an exciting product.

Yes; my point is that 1% of the people who see this while browsing the App Store understand enough about the HealthKit data access requirements to interpret the language that Apple chooses correctly. And Apple does choose the language here, it’s selected by Meta from a list of Apple-created options.

Apple should really communicate more clearly what they mean in these privacy reports, because I don’t think it’s insane to interpret “The following data may be collected and linked to you: … Health & Fitness” in this way.

I’m eager to try this out, but you might also want to check out Steermouse[1], which is a utility it took me years longer to discover than it should have.

I’m not sure how it stacks up to this open source project, but it’s definitely been worth the license cost to me over the years.

At least in Canada - I would assume the model is similar in the US - standard real estate transaction commissions using an agent are 4-5%, so your home wouldn’t need to be over a million to save $20k by avoiding an agent.

Also, in many metros, the prices of homes are so high that a million dollar home ain’t what it used to be. We can’t and shouldn’t assume that someone selling a million dollar house is a sophisticated and wealthy actor.

I know it is an early developer beta, and I haven't even begun to debug it, but Slack running in this method does not perform well. My sent messages frequently show and then get stuck in the grey "sending" text indefinitely after they appear as sent on other devices, and I often don't receive messages in the web app until I force a refresh.

I can confirm that you can run web apps created this way on the developer beta without having Safari running, and if you have both running than quitting Safari will not quit the web app.

I believe they mean shift-cmd-c and it copies the current URL to the clipboard. Comparable to cmd-L + cmd-C in one keystroke.
