bit_4l··on How to succeed in MrBeast production (Leaked PDF)
I would disagree on the net bad for the world, or at least be skeptical about it. Personally, Youtube was my life changing tool which I used to learn almost everything essential to my career and personal development, and I would assume lots of others would be the same. The type of content it recommends goes with the type of content you interacted with in the past. It just a tool and it matters how you use it
bit_4l··on Google Begins Testing Extension Manifest V3 in Chrome Canary
I found Brave more trustworthy than Chrome and better usability than Firefox. Just made a switch to it.
bit_4l··on Using Firefox for a faster, calmer and distraction-free internet
Didn’t know Firefox has this ability, it’s the reason why I have to stuck with Chrome ever since. Couples of click to switch profile and that’s it.
bit_4l··on Wunderlist founder wants to buy his app back from Microsoft
It sucks seeing MS kills Wunderlist. I’m always a huge fan of it. Simple, intuitive.

Isn't it what https://remoteok.io does?
bit_4l··on Jack Dorsey’s account was hacked
If it’s that easy to hack Jack’s Twitter account then we should think twice about its safety. Sounded like a joke.

Off topic but what an username!
bit_4l··on Launch HN: Vendr (YC S19) – Buying software so you don’t have to
Is that what SHI does?

If yes, hope you can do better than them. As a product owner, I've been working with many resellers and most of time it's not worth it.

bit_4l··on AI startup claims to automate app making but actually just uses humans
So they feed their AI with food instead of data
bit_4l··on Launch HN: Compound (YC S19) – helping employees understand equity compensation
This, if made right, is indeed helpful. I have some friends working at early stage startups without understanding esop, even some can’t distinguish options and shares.
bit_4l··on How to get 30k Hacker News visitors to your website
Right. If HN readers are your exact target audience, then it’s totally worth it.

After we got featured on HN for awhile, whenever I hangout at some tech communities, there will always be someone saying “yeah, I came across the post about TablePlus (my product) on Hacker News the other day. Tried already”

That feels good tho. Also a good way to start a conversation and ask for feedback.

bit_4l··on Ask HN: Anyone else find the new Gmail interface sluggish?
You're not alone. I was blaming on my internet connection for awhile, until I found this post: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=18095579

Moved to ProtonMail for important conversations.

bit_4l··on Ask HN: Best alternative to Gmail?
I use both ProtonMail and Zoho Mail. - If you go for better security, ProtonMail. I use this for my personal email. - If you need better UI/UX & some other utilities, use Zoho Mail. It's free though.

bit_4l··on Microsoft Turned Consumers Against the Skype Brand
Remember the good old days when we started the conversation with "Can you hear me?"
bit_4l··on Exit scammers run off with $660M in ICO earnings
That is the legit number. And actually, the scammers built their profiles by leading a lot of winning ICO investing campaigns before that. People just had to follow their investing scheme, put money in their so-called portfolio, and made tons of money from it, so they trust these "experts". Then they claimed iFan and Pincoin were the biggest opportunity. People were so greedy to realise the truth tho.

Congrats on the great advancement. It's also a coincidence that TablePlus just started to support CockroachDB yesterday. In case someone need a good GUI: https://github.com/TablePlus/TablePlus/issues/374
bit_4l··on Show HN: TablePlus – A macOS client for relational databases
Right, that'd be a big leap since we also plan to make it viable for non-tech users. If we put those kinds of feature in plugin, we can keep the app simple & clean.
bit_4l··on Show HN: TablePlus – A macOS client for relational databases
Well, that's the downside of open source, you can't really demand for quick support & development. When we waited for so long, we needed to build it ourselves.

bit_4l··on Show HN: TablePlus – A macOS client for relational databases
Because Linux has too many distros. We didn't decide to use Gnome or C/C++ to build the interface. Since the team is very small, we have to focus on our best.
