Kafka is an amazing event streaming platform.
Hetzner turned off all access to my paid server due to a false-positive on their netscan/DDOS (literally it was tailscaled doing a netcheck) protection and equally incompetent technical support staff.
Can I sue them for breach of contract and subsequent damages? I moved all my hosting off Hetzner as a result, but I'm still very disappointed in their actions.
The company management just totally sullied all that goodwill in a week however.
Maybe we should appreciate what was made by humans while it's still being produced.
This is such an absurd take. Do you really think startups lose runway because of the runtime performance of their code, and not failing to achieve PMF, overhiring, or spending too much on stupid techbro bullshit?
Zero. Because Shopify would have waited until Rust came out in 2015, instead of launching in 2006, and they would never have gotten off the ground and been another failed techbro startup that instead of getting shit done, bikeshedded over languages.
PHP and Ruby apps have generated far more revenues than all the Rust and Golang code combined.
I may explore OVH in the future, nothing against them at all.
I responded to the email and filled out this attestation form declaring that my server was not under attack, it was a false positive, and explained what they were seeing (not to mention it's an unroutable IP). They still null routed my server and refused to turn it back on, and their arrogant support told me there was no way I was in control of this server etc. They took my box offline during a peak user day, so I migrated to AWS and never looked back.
Don't do anything of importance on Hetzner. No wonder they only get people running pirated plex boxes.

How's that affect twitch streamers?
I'm not sure what sort of high-quality wine you drink, cause I drink cheap stuff, and I can 100% tell the difference between a pinot noir and pinot grigio.
Red vs. white isn't a coke vs pepsi thing, it's a coke vs mountain dew.
