Of course both sides believe they're the rational one, and the other side is the nutjob wacko one.. and both believe they're right.

Of course both sides believe they're the rational one, and the other side is the nutjob wacko one.. and both believe they're right.
Business idea: device that you plug to your home wastewater output, scans it, and reports to you anything interesting.
Of course it'd need to be connected to the cloud and have a stupid subscription fee. /s . At least then "Internet of Shit" will apply to the name non-sarcastically.
It'd be an effective way of control, "Hey why didn't you come to our student org meeting last week?".
I guess answering this question "the wrong way" would get a lot of butthurt people showing up to this thread, so feel free to not answer.
There's a CCTV video of how fast the car was moving just before an off-camera crash: https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/tesla-die-sekunden-vor-dem-t...
Seems very insane to go that fast with your family in the car. Later in the video you see the wreck and all the airbags have been blown.
The car was already going very fast in that video, it seems if it was driver error, that's a very long time to be confusing the gas and brake pedals. It could still be a deranged person, who, if he's not white, will be called a terrorist, but again, why take the family?
Another possibility would be the driver suffered a medical emergency and couldn't control the car anymore. But if none of the above applied, then... stuck accelerator pedal?

That's a pretty big crash, not a little fender bender.
If it was a policy that's based on something that the Black people can't change about them (e.g. refusal to entry to a club based on your address, with majority black areas of town being in that list), and it disadvantages them, yes that'd be racist. But in this case, the Black people (or whoever) can easily change it by getting vaxed...
I guess without the waiting area they can add more vaccination booths, but geez, that sounds stressful for the workers, imagine having a person every ~2 minutes for extended periods of time.
Which makes me think I should move my booster appointment to the morning...
Are we at melting point now? Or very very close to it?
There's a loneliness epidemic (even before the *-demic words became used for something else...), my theory is that lonely people were looking for a tribe to feel a sense of belonging and found political tribes to be one.
It also seems to me people take a lot of political positions not because they believe it, but because "the other side" takes the opposing view. Anything the "enemy" likes, I don't support. But the root cause would be to find that sense of belonging. Or it'd be because of insecurity: if I think the other side have idiotic opinions, I can walk around having the smug feeling of supremacy, and hey, at least I feel better, right?
It's the same issue with second generation Muslim migrants in Western Europe who feel "lost" and then found Jihad, they'd start as troubled youths who were shoplifters, who end up in jail, find the charismatic hate-preacher/Imam there and then are inspired and find their lives' cause, which is sadly Jihad. IMO white supremacist terrorists go through the same motions.

As to the why, it's probably related to social status. In the old days people paid attention and listened to the people with status (who usually became leaders), nowadays with celebrity culture it's somehow inverted, a good looking person who can act or sing gets put on stage, and they get the attention (for singing, acting, or looking good), and they gain status.
On the other hand, accelerate the burning of the planet by giving more people access to an energy-wasting ponzi scheme.
Your 2 goals are incompatible with each other, Brian and Blake.
Although, I think making a key fob with a SIM card makes it unnecessary complicated, I wonder if on the fob side it's Bluetooth instead, and requires a smartphone with connectivity, plus a Toyota app.
I guess it'd be better for them to add the x years' (x = average car's lifetime) worth of SIM subscription fee to the base price of the car, to stop this complaining.
