Love the category menu. Everything still looks like a scam, but now it looks less scammy.

The fonts didn’t even render for me in iOS safari. Also they prevent the back button from working.
beeskneecaps··on Hertz bug leads to people being erroneously arrested and jailed
Reminds me how uncle bob warned us that some day when the software industry is regulated, git blame will send some sorry engineer to jail.
beeskneecaps··on The rise of fear-based social media like Nextdoor, Citizen, and Amazon Neighbors
It is interesting to observe assumptions about the entire network, where one can only observe a small fraction of the entire network.

A single observation of racism or toxicity causes many observers to assume their neighborhood is full of casual racism or is completely toxic.

beeskneecaps··on My Salary Progression in Tech
Every post on there ends up looking like this HN thread. Some would say it is highly toxic, so make sure to set an aggressive screen-time limit. It is not healthy to read so much depressing content.

beeskneecaps··on Local News Is Dying, Taking Small Town America With It
Nextdoor seems like the place where local papers can join up as news pages to reboot their traffic.
beeskneecaps··on Ask HN: What is stopping you from becoming a freelancer?
Competing on those freelance bidding war sites that are full of lowballing spammers has been a major barrier to entry. It is so much easier to get a fte job.
beeskneecaps··on Tech workers say poor leadership is number one cause for burnout
I have seen evidence that Blind is a major source of toxicity at many companies. I would recommend not installing the app as it only serves to make you feel burned out.
beeskneecaps··on New Video of F-117s Flying Out of Tonopah Despite Their Fates Being Sealed
Thank you for this nostalgic throwback. I loved this game so much, I wrote a book based on it in second grade, illustrating one of the missions lol.
beeskneecaps··on Bird, Lime and Spin Receive Cease-And-desist Letters from SF City Attorney
You can feel the hate as you glide along. A+++++ would ride again
beeskneecaps··on Ask HN: How do you deal with burnout as a programmer?
Laptop off, phone off when you get home. Read science fiction or fantasy books, watch an engaging mini series, or get a Nintendo switch and run around in Breath of the Wild for 40 hours. Or get out and actually go camping. These are some of my burnout cures.
beeskneecaps··on Runbox is leaving the Facebook platform
That is literally all every company has ever done throughout history (jump on the next bandwagon).

Can’t delete my comment so i’ll edit it to something different. Please ignore.
beeskneecaps··on The best Nintendo Switch feature is its lack of region-locking
You’re entitled to your opinion, but I think that evil is a stretch. That one aspect is certainly disappointing. Maybe I’m just in love with something that is evil.
beeskneecaps··on Skillful Service Is Born of a Quiet Heart
Nah. Mountain Dew techno Red Bull 24/7 hacking parties for me plz.
beeskneecaps··on Old Smartphones Are a Problem for Apple and Samsung
Still rocking the iPhone SE. Fits in my hand, makes phone calls and loads fast. Don’t need to unlock it with my face.
