bathtub365··on Anthropic Subscriptions Offer 5x+ More Value Than OpenAI
What margin does a business “deserve”? If people are willing to pay it, what do you expect to happen?
bathtub365··on Surely you have ultra-wideband radios on your bins too?
I found all of this device, software, and battery management exhausting to the point where it was harder than just remembering if I closed the door or noticed that the cat puked on the carpet overnight. I let it all go and just lived like a normal person and everything got easier.
bathtub365··on Big Balls Now Exposed to Serious Criminal Charges in at Least Six States
So, to summarize: he was fired for cause and also assisted cybercriminals.

What’s the earliest classification model you know of?
bathtub365··on Italian parliament votes for return to nuclear energy
New suburb housing developments in North America typically use a handful of floorplans that are customized very slightly across many homes specifically so they don’t need hundreds of unique designs
bathtub365··on I don't want to read what you didn't write
I’ve started just asking it to touch up text to make it sound more human and follow technical writing guidelines and it converges on convincing pretty quickly. It also makes it easier for me to verify that it’s correct because all of the stupid LLM noise and formatting goes away and it gets distilled down to the important bits.
bathtub365··on I don't want to read what you didn't write
I’m fine with reading something you didn’t write if it has the information I need. I’m not fine with reading something you didn’t read and will just waste my time.
bathtub365··on DraftKings Uses A.I. To Target the Gamblers Likeliest to Lose
Should outrage not be directed at a gambling site that targets its most vulnerable users?
bathtub365··on Iran school bombing: grounds to believe US was behind atrocity, UN finds
The current president of the USA said he would end the entire Iranian civilization. What do you think that entails?
bathtub365··on Amazon refused to give pregnant workers bathroom breaks
They still exist under the Pinkerton name, they’re just a subsidiary of Securitas AB:

bathtub365··on 'Lake America' makes one thing clear: We can't trust U.S. tech companies
Yes, their legal department.
bathtub365··on ICE officers with electric-shock gloves
The US doesn’t recognize the ICC and has sanctioned its members. What makes you think anything will come of this unless nuclear bombs are dropped and the sitting president puts a bullet in his own head because he doesn’t want to be captured and tortured by encroaching Soviet troops?
bathtub365··on German advocacy group lodges criminal complaint over Meta AI glasses
Ray Ban has been an Italian brand for decades. They got bought by Luxottica in 1999.
bathtub365··on Gulf States Accept a New Normal in Hormuz: Iran Is in Control
The US spent decades building their own missile program…
bathtub365··on GPT 5.6 Cyber
My expectation is that this just lets 3-letter agencies hoard more 0-days. They’ve always had the financial resources to find them using teams of people and this just multiplies this ability.
bathtub365··on Bulldozers Plow Through Big Bend National Park, Sparking Fury in Texas
Is that an exceptional number?
bathtub365··on Microsoft raises Xbox prices by up to 43%
The new leadership that was installed clearly has no idea what they’re doing. I get the sense they’re just trying not to get fired. Asha had no games industry experience coming in.

They were also dealt a pretty bad hand with the humongous Activision acquisition and a pretty poor slate of games year over year basically since the start of Covid.

bathtub365··on JetZero
I only travel in classes where I know they will provide one.
bathtub365··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
This is the opposite of my experience since about February of this year.
bathtub365··on AIs don't do what you want. This is bad
How many of the LLM related deaths have been because people got mad at the LLM?
bathtub365··on SpaceX Starship Flight 13 livestream [video]
He has billions of dollars and still can’t help but stoop to pathetic immaturity.
bathtub365··on Claude Opus 5

bathtub365··on Transform your fund into something you can talk to
Even the older accounts only have one or two karma.
bathtub365··on Trump Media to sell instant access to 'market-moving' social posts
The algorithmic trading firms were already doing this via scraping. What I’m curious about is if they’re going to also impose a slight delay between when posts show up in the API vs when they’re posted on the website.
bathtub365··on 800 Canadian wildfires burning as air quality alerts extend to US
In BC when they were at their worst the sky was dark yellow and the sun was a very dark blood red. It was like something I’d never seen before. Think the light level in Seattle during an extremely overcast day with a low ceiling, but everything you look at has been coloured yellow by the sunlight passing through the smoke. It looks a lot like photos from the various Mars missions.
bathtub365··on 800 Canadian wildfires burning as air quality alerts extend to US
Many of these fires are not effectively manageable by people when they get out of control (which can happen easily since they are in very remote areas), and there are a lot of them. They are also spread out over a huge geographical area. The scale is unimaginable so it isn’t a staffing problem.
bathtub365··on Show HN: Nobie – an Excel-compatible runtime for agents and humans
How does that work, do you not pay the developers who build and maintain this software?
bathtub365··on 45% of enthusiasts 'seriously considering' leaving Sony for PC
What PC are they going to get for a comparable price, that also has a disc drive? The Steam Machine came out more expensive than they wanted due to the current component price crisis and doesn’t have a disc drive.

And even then, where is anyone buying physical PC releases?

bathtub365··on 45% of Enthusiasts 'Seriously Considering' Leaving Sony for PC
The majority of respondents claiming this is because of Sony ending production of disc based games seems crazy to me. How do they think you get games on PC? My Steam Deck doesn’t have a disc drive and desktop PC case doesn’t even have a 5.25” drive bay.
bathtub365··on Apple sues OpenAI, accuses ex-employees of stealing trade secrets
Apple is obviously the victim but prevention is easier than what is happening now, which is potentially going to court, discovery, etc.
