This certainly could be uncomfortable for Musk.

That’s a simple and elegant solution. I believe this is much like how threads prefixed ‘Ask HN’ already work, too?

Oracle has this in some (all?) of their new postings:

> This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

The credit reporting triopoly in the US really needs to be looked at, and likely restructured in some fashion. Three private enterprises should not have this much control over a consumer’s ability to interact with the economy.

Following the Adobe playbook?

I think the Reddit and guest blog post part of this are pretty well-known and even heavily advertised, even directly on Google Ads.

Try searching for 'buy reddit upvotes' and you'll get ads for services that do exactly what you're talking about.

I'm a huge fan of MikroTik. The RB4011 is fantastic router at the price point and even has a 10G SFP+ port. Great hardware.

The configuration UI isn't the best, but they also have a full scriptable CLI that isn't too bad. Huge future set. I just wish they would move the newest version (7) along quicker in development.

Thanks for this!

As an aside, they have a terrible UI/UX for this - it's probably on purpose. They could have easily put all of those permissions on a single page.

APIs appear down, as well.

> "Another downside," our source added, "is that some clients block Trello which can be really disappointing after you've just built a big board together."

Why is Trello being blocked?

It's like real estate, the prices are set based on the market and demand. The TLD is comparable to location in real estate. Prices will only go up for the major TLDs.

I'll never understand how Reddit remains so broken in so many ways.

I've been using Reddit Ads recently, and the UI for it barely seems to work. The dashboard updates days later with incorrect information. Crazy for their main revenue source to be so flakey.

He also has an great warehouse setup in his crawl space.

Really impressive guy.

This is great. Tempted to try this on a 4011 with the 10G SFP+ port. Mikrotik makes some awesome equipment for the price.

I've use both; I have several dedicated servers with OVH in their BHS datacenter and several instances with Vultr in their NJ datacenter. Both are great for the price, although support can sometimes be lacking.

OVH also has two cheaper brands for dedicated servers to checkout - SoYouStart and Kimsufi. The two cheaper brands have much more limited support.

It's real. It's their commercial offering.

Simple has been fantastic for me the past two years or so; give them a shot.

This native version has much better performance: https://github.com/taganaka/is-thirteen-native

ELBs in EC2 Classic support IPv6, but not ELBs in VPCs, as of now at least. You may already have known this but I figured I'd point it out for others: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ElasticLoadBalancing/latest/Devel...

I know both Simple and Capital One (their credit cards, at least) offer near-instant iOS and SMS notifications of all transaction.

Have you open sourced any of this, by chance? Was just thinking of attempting this on my BMW.

I would assume they don't want to carry a satellite phone as that would give them a connection to that which they are intentionally trying to get away from.

It likely uses QoS to prioritize traffic to the device.

They should've used a door strike meant for such things that they would've been able to control with their microcontroller, and then still have a normal knob/lock in place as a failsafe.

A quick google found the sort of setup I'm talking about and a how-to. These are the types of strikes use on commercial setups.

It's never too late to start learning anything.

These are security holes patched in 6.1. I almost first read it as these are issues existent in 6.1. They need to better title the article.

Liquibase is already heavily used in enterprise settings. I could see this being fantastic for smaller dev groups, though.

Yes, but I would hope it would not be used. This isn't what the point system is about on HN.

I'd personally go as high as 6-8 in some scenarios. You can do a good bit with 512mb of memory of it's only doing a single task. Sometimes it's nice to keep things separated and compartmentalized.

Why limit the number of VMs, rather than just have it limited directly by memory?

For example, why can't I have three instances with 2gb of memory and two with 768mb?

It would make it pull the trigger.
