I'm putting more weight on objective observers. People with scientific backgrounds.
You are putting weight on grieving parents who refused an autopsy and a notorious liar.
"Natural and in good repair" from the American doctor.
The family also refused an autopsy. Weird right?
Saying it during the exit interview would probably have the most impact.
I think the first step is demystifying it. If you wanted to learn a new programming language, you would just "do it": read books, read about the language, practice writing code, etc.
You can be a negative/realist as long as your perceived value outweighs your "bad" attitude. The problem with this is that people are really bad at placing value on soft skills and all it takes is one clueless manager to sandbag you.
Everything op said above is spot on
The sites that do the things you list are horrid because they just throw libraries at the problem.
"Yet the experience of towns like Ames and Des Moines show that such “labor shortages” might be due to insufficient wages and crummy working conditions — not an unwillingness of workers to switch industries or improve their skills for a job. The trucking industry is instructive here: Trade groups have argued that it is facing a shortfall of 51,000 workers, yet businesses have not yet shown much willingness to cut hours, boost pay, and improve conditions to lure workers in. Indeed, across the economy, companies have shown a remarkable unwillingness to boost wages, with growth barely keeping pace with inflation even as the unemployment rate has dropped to 4 percent"

This isn't progress
