People with large swathes of equity in a company want people with near zero equity to act like they will be getting C-level rich off of their wage/salary if the company's business plan hits.

Founders are not desperate for talent. They are desperate for labor will shoulder vastly unequal labor for vastly underpaid compensation.

Capital always pushes for slaves. Labor can only push for using their smart phone during their bathroom break and not giving a shit about the final product as its success does not offer labor truly valued compensation.

Minimum wage is a thing but maximum wage is not in a civilization run by capital.

"I wrote a decoder in Perl. Everything must be in Perl."

preach on.

backtoyoujim··on Why ghosts wear clothes or white sheets
Intellectually the leap to believing in ghosts at all is longer than the mere stutter step to believing then in ghosts' apparel, ghastly accoutrements, and ethereal monocles.

But surely an identity would need to projected onto a ghost to transform it from an unknown haunting in a sheet into a known phantasm recognized by its victim.

Like dimensional digital projectors from our soul or collective consciences onto the sheet to create a ghost seems to be the idea.

"Better" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. In my town they took down the automated red light ticket machines on many corners because people quit running the lights. So the machines weren't gathering monies in tickets yet they still cost the city to have them.

Better needs to mean something other than gather revenue. And it don't with automated things.

backtoyoujim··on Creativity fundamentally comes from memorization?
so imagine from playing a guitar and you get famous and people ask you "who were your influences ?"

and i assumed that they mean "when you were more horrible at the guitar than you are now whose songs did you learn to play on your guitar ?"

and that can be the same with writing as a trick one can write out an other author's work often until there is actual influence on vocabulary and style.

Then you take that and make up new stuff using the that new musical or lyrical style or collective style.

until someone shows up and does something so outside of the paradigm and yet still sublime that a new source of derivation exists.

wash. rinse. wipe hands on pants.
