I am struggling with the idea of using property rights to create financial inequity so that one man's moral stance can be furthered through charity.

The "I'm confused" response requires the signal getting past the amygdala. The other type of response that you mentioned doesn't require that.
backtoyoujim··on Goldman Sachs relaxes dress code for techs in fight for talent
I remember working in a bullpen among other young, enthusiastic, hard-working, poorly groomed males coding in the horror show that C++, CORBA, and Oracle could put on for a production environment during that first 90s dot.com build up.

Meanwhile the president/CEO guy came wandering through the production gallows with our manager speaking about how next-round VCs were going to show up tomorrow for a looksee.

I asked my manager if we should dress up for that. The CEO threw his hands out and said, "No, no, no! Wear that penguin shirt and flip flops and shit. We are a start-up."

backtoyoujim··on An ‘Uber for garbage’ picks up steam, and $11.7M in Series A funding
I wonder what is the reality of organized crime being a part of the contemporary garbage collection and recycling landscape.

And I wonder if these two have had any cover from it.

backtoyoujim··on Want to rescue rural America? Bust monopolies
Amazon is a infested with scam storefronts. And Amazon is really compelled to do anything about it because they have no competition.

Airlines have huge market barriers: getting and maintaining huge, expensive, gas guzzling aircraft. That is not a regulation barrier.

Both telecomm and health care are intwined monopsonies backing the play of regional monopolies (cartels) backing federal congresspeople.

I just don't buy any of your comment as fact at all.

backtoyoujim··on Facebook’s algorithm isn’t surfacing one-third of Chicago Tribune’s posts
Distributor is not quite right.

If I run a shop that sells magazines, and I order a four magazines to fill some rack space in the shop the distributor does not decide to send you two and black hole the rest of your order.

They send you what you ordered.

Facebook is not a distributor. They are acting as gatekeepers, too.

backtoyoujim··on Iron law of prohibition
Black market drug manufacturing creates adulterated, weakened, or counterfeit drugs that usually are transported as contraband surrounded by foreign substances like gasoline.

During Prohibition alcohol was manufactured to include methyl in the final product just to maim, blind or kill anyone desperate enough to drink it.

Prohibition does not make drugs hard. It makes them dirty.
