aussieguy1234··on AnyPS5: Port PS5 binaries to PC without emulation (87% system libraries mapped)
Could something like Rosetta be built out of this?
aussieguy1234··on LLMs may have helped my RSI
If you set up speech to text like voxtype, you won't even have to type the prompt into the AI and can do your programming almost entirely by voice.

I don't have RSI, but I do this whenever my arms get tired to make sure I don't end up with it.

aussieguy1234··on Linux containers in 500 lines of code (2016)
I use per project bubblewrap scripts for my coding agents.
aussieguy1234··on Why Common Lisp is now the best programming language
That's a lot of power to mess things up that I wouldn't be putting into the hands of an LLM I don't trust.
aussieguy1234··on Anthropic reported diary entry to police, woman faces felony charge
Claude did this, its also important to remember that a human counselor or psychologist will also do the same thing.

For example, if you said to your counselor or psychologist that John Smith is going to rob the bank next Thursday, they will report that to prevent the imminent risk of serious harm to others.

And remember that anything but local AI you personally control is not anonymous. Not even AI you pool with your friends.

aussieguy1234··on Sudo – A dedicated music player designed around listening to music
Just don't run it from the terminal or you might get more than you bargained for...
aussieguy1234··on You Said No MCP
Generally, I use skills with a CLI tool instead of MCP and tools. Usually in most cases I also get a coding agent to generate the CLI tool.

I find this approach is easier to debug and I can also use the tool myself to ensure it's working well.

aussieguy1234··on PS5 Relapse Exploit
The fact you need to hack hardware you legally own just to get full control over it is insane
aussieguy1234··on Flock Wants the Most Detailed Map of Its Surveillance Cameras Taken Offline
Might be a good one for the online archiving groups to grab a hold off just in case Flock succeeds in having it taken down
aussieguy1234··on Flock Wants the Most Detailed Map of Its Surveillance Cameras Taken Offline
Could this map be seeded as a torrent? Not so easy to take down...
aussieguy1234··on Feds Target AI Critics as "Foreign Agents"
Sounds similar to Russia targeting LGBT rights and other human rights activists as "Foreign Agents".
aussieguy1234··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
Pelicanbench
aussieguy1234··on Claude Code now reads AGENTS.md if there is no Claude.md
So far I've been managing this with a symlink.

Same with skills, symlink to skills at .claude/skills

aussieguy1234··on More than 100k people in Japan are now aged 100 or older
>They seem to be very unhappy about Japan building up its war fighting capacity.

Could be a strategy going on here.

Before they invaded Ukraine, Russia criticized Ukrainian military buildup as "destabalising". Probably with full knowledge of their own plans to invade.

aussieguy1234··on Australia says it could follow Canada in forging deeper ties with EU
Australians and New Zelalanders don't need a visa to travel either way.

In NZ, I approached the immigration desk with my American partner at the time, they stamped her passport with a visa but said to me I didn't need one.

aussieguy1234··on Hackers Got Inside a Flock Camera
> This camera is missing Android security updates for the last eight years.

Right. So expect thousands of Flock cameras to be hacked soon.

Possible perps include foreign intelligence agencies (Khamenei in Iran was tracked down for his assassination using Iranian traffic cams), stalkers, domestic violence perps tracking their victims, the list goes on....

More than likely though, multiple of the above.

aussieguy1234··on I fixed a tractor using John Deere's self-repair service. Farmers aren't sold
Charging a subscription to be able to repair equipment you own is obscene. No way in hell would I ever purchase any equipment from a provider that does this.
aussieguy1234··on Show HN: Art – draw one stroke, let symmetry complete it
Now we just need the mobile app
aussieguy1234··on My Feed, My Way
Bluesky has blocklists out of the box. You can block hate speech and other problematic content.

No such feature in the other socials. Open the feed, you could see toxic content from an account you never followed thanks to the algorithm...

aussieguy1234··on We have a year to fix security everywhere
AI generated code having more security issues + Superhuman AI security scanning capabilities could create a perfect storm.

One AI generates code, another AI finds the security holes and systems everywhere get compromised.

aussieguy1234··on My Feed, My Way
I reckon a good idea would be to force Bluesky levels of feed customization, with a choice of blocklists.

Theres alot of stuff turning up in my feeds lately that i'd rather not see.

aussieguy1234··on Show HN: Stuxnet – A reconstructed source code of the infamous cyber-weapon
Somehow, I don't think the original authors of this proprietary code are going to be filing a copyright claim...
aussieguy1234··on An Alien Mind
Its probably just going to be aligned with whomever built and/or is using it. Regardless of their intentions...
aussieguy1234··on GrapheneOS Overhauled Default Apps and Secure Clipboard
Just tried this out. I may soon be cancelling by Google Photos subscription...
aussieguy1234··on Three sites made 215,128 “best software” pages for AI. Perplexity cites them
Chatgpt tends to add ref=chatgpt to links in its chat output, so you could look for that.
aussieguy1234··on Playa Phone
In Australia, all payphones have been made free.

These provide a lifeline to homeless people, domestic violence victims whose phones may be monitored and others in vulnerable situations.

Statistics show a large percentage of calls go to support services such as domestic violence hotlines.

aussieguy1234··on ReactOS 0.4.16
Excel writes Excel, which writes Excel...

Now we have an infinite loop

aussieguy1234··on Lawmakers added $1 to car insurance policies. That money paid for Flock cameras
EV batteries weigh hundreds of kilos. They typically require a mechanical workshop with a hoist to remove, not something your typical theif could easily steal on a street corner.
aussieguy1234··on Sovereign Tech Agency invests €500k in Flatpak
For these Flatpak improvements, are they also going to end up in bubblewrap?
