If you want fast HTML parsing in python+lxml, use html5-parser https://github.com/kovidgoyal/html5-parser
aumerle··on Everything you ever wanted to know about terminals
https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/shell-integration does that and many other things for you out of the box.

That is not true. There is nothing provable about hash functions. The best that you can say is that there is no known algorithm that can calculate a pre-image for any given hash function in less than some super linear time. You certainly cannot prove that no such algorithm exists. If you can prove it please publish a paper you will be revolutionize mathematics.
aumerle··on SerenityOS demo at Handmade Seattle 2021 [video]
Sure, many can, for example: https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/open_actions/

Trivial to do in many modern terminal emulators, the most flexible approach being in kitty, where you can map clicks on filenames printed by ls to arbitrary actions: https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/open_actions/
aumerle··on SQLite: Vulnerabilities
Yes, CVEs are often exaggerated and sometimes just plain wrong. The bulk of them tend to be created by people that gain somehow, either financially or reputationally by creating them, and have no affiliation with either the person who originally discovered the bug or the upstream project that fixed the bug. Such people have every incentive to maximize impact and no incentive to do due diligence. And the review process for CVEs is entirely inadequate to the volume of the task.
aumerle··on Raw keyboard handling in Unix terminals
Yes, in such a case, use the terminals native reset capabilities. And hopefully someday shells will learn how to interpret the full keyboard protocol, making it possible to type reset in any mode.
aumerle··on Raw keyboard handling in Unix terminals
The first couple of parapgraphs tell you that it is based on that and list all the issues with fixterms that it fixes.

I cant reply to your other post, so: you need to run the other kitty instance also with -1. If you do that, you will get the same numbers I got.
aumerle··on Fix Terminals
You need to run kitty -1 to start kitty and leave it running. Then all future kitty -1 invocations will open new windows instantaneously.
aumerle··on Fix Terminals
time kitty -1 false real 0.098 user 0.080 sys 0.017 maxmem 23 MB faults 0

time xterm false real 0.052 user 0.035 sys 0.000 maxmem 9 MB faults 1

Doesnt look like an order of magnitude to me.

aumerle··on Fix Terminals
kitty startup time was slow because of a bug in GLFW, fixed a while ago. And you can have its startup time be 0 with --single-instance.

Just use a shell alias for ssh that does a reset if the ssh command exits with an error code.
aumerle··on Kitty – a fast, featureful, GPU based terminal emulator
You can freely resize layouts using hte keyboard (but not the mouse) see https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/#layouts but be aware that it currently does not work in the released kitty because of a regression, so you will need to run kitty from master
aumerle··on Kitty – a fast, featureful, GPU based terminal emulator
It's simple, take for example scrolling a file in less. Most modern terminals are fast enough that you can do it at the key repeat rate of your computer. The difference with kitty is that the scrolling feels smoother and uses less CPU, for the same task, thereby saving battery and pleasing your eyes.
aumerle··on Kitty – a fast, featureful, GPU based terminal emulator
kitty has remote control (the ability to contrl it fro scripts/shell prompt) which you can use to integrate its windowing/layouts with other programs. Not sure what else the terminal emulator could do in this space, but if you have ideas, feel free to discuss them on github

aumerle··on CLI: Improved
As far as pretty CLI diff tools goes, the prettiest by far is: https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/kittens/diff.html

The downside being it requires the kitty terminal as it uses features not present in other terminals.

aumerle··on XARs: An efficient system for self-contained executables
Makes sense, this is somewhat analogous to the import speedup you can get by putting all the python modules into a zip file. I tend to do that when distributing python applications on windows, where the speedup is more noticeable.
aumerle··on XARs: An efficient system for self-contained executables
It's somewhat counter-intuitive that start times with XAR are lower than start times without it. Is fuse faster than a kernel filesystem? Even with compression?
aumerle··on A man who paves India's roads with old plastic
The article is discussing a technique used to dispose of waste plastic. In other words plastic that would exists in macro and micro form regardless of its use to improve roads.
