That's easy to say when most of the public isn't driving your cars. Scaling the company can bring a lot of problems that weren't foreseen.

The words "Bad faith" are such a cop out lately. Everyone is using it because they think it is a clear way to win an argument fast. What do you mean when using it?
atomical··on When Women Outrun Men
Elite athletes that can't manage their weight so that they have enough body fat to last until the end of the race? I think not. Also, extremely low body fat can cause a host of other issues like low testosterone that could effect race performance.

It's a small sport with not much competition.

I care about reading something written by a professional instead of a Tim Ferriss type. I've found several suspect items in his blog articles. I would like to know his credentials.

How would you define failure in this case? As we've seen from Uber's IPO the valuations aren't accurate. There is little price discovery to be had in private markets.

The company could also hang on for a long time before being acquired or going out of business.

Both Apple and Google support Saudi Arabia by refusing to remove the Absher app from the app store. Could any current employees shed light on if there is any internal disagreement on this?
atomical··on Sam Altman’s leap of faith
This is unfathomably harder than anything YC has ever dealt with in the past. Judging by what happened with IBM's Watson and Theranos I really doubt Sam will be given a blank check for the black box that is likely to emerge.
atomical··on Sam Altman’s leap of faith
I want to short Altman and his startup. How do I do it? Prediction markets?

Ultrarunning is such a niche sport. That's why it isn't an olympic sport. There aren't enough people in the sport to make finishes consistent across similar terrain. The winner of the race could be 2 hours ahead of the second place finish.
atomical··on I was offered a job at Foxconn to assemble iPhones for $1.7 per hour
Why would it? Tim supports Saudi Arabia and their oppressive apps in the app store.

I grew up on a farm. Almost anyone can adapt to hard work if it's a necessity.

It's easy to move a box 1,000 times with little change in quality. It's not easy to design great software when tired or overworked.

Ah, so they would be better off eating junk food? That's actually what the authors of the studies suggest.

atomical··on Who’s at risk for obsessive healthy eating? Toronto research sheds light
It's possible it interferes with day to day life but extends life as a whole considering the typical diet in America.

There is a question as to whether this is a real disorder. Eating healthy and convincing others to do so isn't a sin.
