Of course Ukraine should defend itself and not just roll over.
What I meant is: Starting a war is pointless.
Now please don't reply with a comment saying "Ukraine didn't start the war". I know, and that's not what I said.
Way into the future, once all armies are equipped with such killer robots: who are they going to kill? Other robots in a fight?
I'm genuinely not sure how I feel about this, except that it makes war even more pointless than it is today.
Thoughts?
That's what they said in an email reply to me. Not sure what question I was asking, but they were very upfront about it.
Sure, you can get second hand phones, but: 1. You won't get any security patches (or not for long) 2. I don't think I can trust a 2nd hand device to not be modified in some way. Feels like an easy way to get valuable data.
So if security is a concern at all, I think new phones are sadly the only way to go.
But most importantly, enough to enjoy the moment despite the hardship.
Once you discover that it is possible, that it is logical, then a new life awaits.
As far as history is concerned, a wikipedia page describing the company and it's activities would most likely suffice.
Look, how old is internet right now? How much did it change since the beginning? How often do you look at a product online on an early-90s website and think "oh, that's good marketing"?
I don't think any serious business should see this as a "perfect use case". Just a big waste of money, that is.
Can't wait to see the reaction when one of these barrels inevitably hits something important to someone.
Have any data to back your claim?
I've also been banned one day for posting ads for my pictures. Just portraits, nothing special.
I got zero explanation and could not recover my ad credits.
More recently I was shadow banned for including links to YouTube on my fb post. Got a reach of 21, where it was usually above 1000. My page didn't recover yet.
It's time to let meta die.
For me, the ol' F-91W is the only watch I can bear to wear.
Thanks Bram, have a good afterlife.
Nitpick, and clearly off topic, but right now I don't love "the web".
It's increasingly controlled by a handful of companies. They dictate what content is made visible (meta, google) or what email goes to the spam filter (ms, google).
Right now I don't love the web, far from it. It's a constant struggle to be heard even by the people who chose to follow your activity.
Essentially, most of my communication happens in real life or in private chats. (Also, have I said how messenger for business is terrible and unreliable?)
To me, something needs to happen to the web as it is today. I don't know what, I don't know how, but I certainly welcome change.
"But it's not much" you'll say. Yeah, wait another 10-20 years, with all the additional shit launched into space.
These projects deserve funding, if at least from giants like facebook & co.
Sadly I lost the contents of the old wiki. I did pour a lot of energy into that :) But I still have a page on my old blog: https://www.aspyct.org/aspyct/ (funny URL though \o/)
It's never been a huge hit, but from time to time I would get emails from students who were investigating it for a university project. That was fun :)
Is was adding some interesting features (notably pointcuts), but ultimately it didn't bring enough added value compared to a simple decorator in python, and I ceased development.
It's still available on SourceForge, for those interested: https://sourceforge.net/projects/aspyct/files/aspyct/
EDIT: wow that was 15 years ago. I'm not getting younger :p
They know their problem, you should figure out a solution.
