> In Chrome 127 we are introducing a new protection on Windows that improves on the DPAPI by providing Application-Bound (App-Bound) Encryption primitives. Rather than allowing any app running as the logged in user to access this data, Chrome can now encrypt data tied to app identity, similar to how the Keychain operates on macOS.

This resonates with my use of grep+less: https://github.com/tstack/lnav?tab=readme-ov-file#why-not-ju...
Except when you are editing video, or rendering output. When you have multiple streams of very high definition input, you definitely need much more than realtime speed decoding of a single video.
And you would want to scrub around the video(s), jumping to any timecode, and get the target frame preferably showing as soon as your monitor refreshes.
Instead of everyone EVERYONE having to adjust clocks and their natural schedules. I think (and some studies agree with me) the stress and negative effects of that switching twice a year is much more on aggregate.
I don't personally see any benefit from daylight savings. But I also live at around 60+ degrees North: at peak summertime there is 19 hours of full daylight (barely gets dark the other hours), wintertime less about 5. Daylight saving does not really make a dent.
Schools don't have to always start at the same time? And many jobs also not?
It's not like 9-17 work hours are set on stone?

But simplified it's maybe exactly this from the UN reports glossary:
> Cities: According to the Degree of Urbanization methodology, contiguous geographic areas with a high population density (at least 1,500 people per km2) and a total population of at least 50,000 inhabitants.
https://www.un.org/development/desa/pd/sites/www.un.org.deve...
> The UN figures include a mixture of city proper, metropolitan area, and urban area.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_cities
I haven't looked into the details of that definition.
But there is a somewhat standard definition to "metropolitan area" derived from something like "area where there is at least X per square km"
So it's not related a somewhat random definition of a "city" and its borders.
Nitpick: Sounds a lot like Tagalog (Filipino), another SEA language.
Luckily it was quickly remedied at least.
Haven't looked much at the market since, but I would guess generic sports video "record+compare" tools would be available nowadays in app stores?
Back on 2006 that video handling was quite a tech feat, nowadays should be straight forward on any modern phone.
For the comparison parent post is making - leisure travel - I think there's a big difference in that flying enables much larger distances, thus much more emissions.
You can easily fly 1000 miles each way for a weekend trip. Not as easily with a car, the travel tends to be much shorter.

I scream. You scream. We all scream... for us to fix this page. We’ll stop making jokes and get things up and running soon.
Seeing example output would be interesting, even if service is hugged to death.
IMHO it could lose some of the silly charm with scientific notation.
But having the numbers aligned for easy comparison would be great.

To OP: I really like this! Will be guessing some with my kids who are around 10 year old. Combined weight less than an elephant.
Means it's TECHNICALLY possible, and Microsoft actively takes away the option after 10 days?
Do people not hate this?
On macos the only way to revert is through full machine backups. That at least lets me think the upgrade is irreversible without backups, and then I am fine with it. :)
What, why?!
E.g. results from external services, calculations, anything that an application might want to cache.
Am working on a somewhat large Django system, and there is a ton of different things we cache in Redis.
Also HTML template results as another comment mentioned, but mostly something else entirely, related to the application logic.

I did not understand this.
I use Slack at work. I would assume my employer owns all the work related discussions we have and keeps that as useful documentation around many issues? And if someone leaves the company, it is a feature and not a bug that they will not have access to those internal discussions.
What is bad about this?
So for me Slack has become a second memory for technical and other details.
From my experience this can be extremely hard - to be able to know how much one employee is contributing compared to another one.
Disclaimer: No idea who you are or what and whom you work with.
But still: I think you and the people you have calls with are missing out. Seeing peoples reactions brings very much additional value to communication.
I would 100% disagree on that. In my humble opinion the "mental bandwidth" for communication is about 2-10x with video+audio compared with plain audio. Because you can see how the other person(s) react etc.
