arm32··on GitHub PR Creation Down
Looks like it's been resolved on my end now.
arm32··on Claude Opus 5
I tried to find it on Wayback but their job page's SPA is broken on all relevant archives (roughly around March 2026). Maybe you'll have better luck.
arm32··on GitHub PR Creation Down
You beat me to it, by like 200ms!
arm32··on Claude Opus 5
Nah, it's real. I very clearly remember going to their site, with TLS enabled, and reading it myself. I see they've scrubbed it now though.

But the job itself may not exist in a year, according to the job posting page.
arm32··on Patreon laying off 20% of staff
Turns out, playing the keyboard for a ton of time makes you really good.
arm32··on Patreon laying off 20% of staff
I'd prefer a crying video over the obviously Claude-written article.
arm32··on Patreon laying off 20% of staff
He needs to be frowning and wearing all white.

His smile really says, "I'm so happy, healthy and am quite fond of my life while making music with my really cool celebrity friends!"
arm32··on Patreon laying off 20% of staff
For anyone wondering, I looked it up and even managed not to mindlessly delegate it to an LLM—you're welcome!

First layoff was in 2022, 17%, claimed reason: economic downturn.

That was the last layoff.

So by "every few years" you mean, a single time a few years ago, yea.

Buckle in, our economy is flushing!

arm32··on ChatGPT medical advice brought man 'to brink of death', lawsuit alleges
Why are people even allowed to dress up ChatGPT... an autoregressive transformer... as a faith-based holistic doctor? Anybody could see this going wrong from a hundred miles away.
arm32··on AI bet goes awry: Oracle fires 21,000 employees
I'm shocked regulators didn't budge. Good.
arm32··on Introducing selfie for sign-in: a new way to access your Google Account
Respectfully, John and Claire, what do they have you guys doing? Please blink twice in your selfies if you're okay.
arm32··on Why Software Factories Fail (or: harness engineering is not enough)
I love how we need to preface such an opinion as being "radical" nowadays.
arm32··on Ask HN: If OpenAI hacked HuggingFace, why aren't OpenAI prosecuted?
A victim doesn't have to press charges for charges to be filed by the state. In fact, historically, the state is the one to file charges.
arm32··on Ask HN: If OpenAI hacked HuggingFace, why aren't OpenAI prosecuted?
I remember when everyone involved with AaronSW's JSTOR downloading made nice and turned it into a fun time, until a certain two government officials decided that doesn't matter.

OpenAI could be considered a legal actor under the CFAA, notably: unauth'd acc. §1030(a)(2), fraud §1030(a)(4), (kind of a stretch but) damage §1030(a)(5), and conspiracy.

I miss ya, Aaron.

arm32··on John C. Dvorak has died
May he write some excellent reviews of the technology in the afterlife. Thanks for all the great reads, John!
arm32··on John C. Dvorak has died
What a legend.
arm32··on Terrence Tao's ChatGPT Conversation about the Jacobian Conjecture Counterexample
To me, this shows that extremely talented and qualified mathematicians (can) use frontier-level LLMs to automate their personal grind-y workloads that would otherwise (probably) take more time to accomplish with natural intelligence.

By itself, no consequence. But over time, provided we keep pumping out talented and qualified mathematicians and keep subsidizing costs, we could maybe hit a breakthrough... somewhere... that has real impact.

arm32··on Late.sh – a command-line Clubhouse for computer people
I've never seen such a lame landing page for such a FREAKING COOL project. It's like a reverse trojan horse.

Anyway, with that critique aside, this is the coolest thing I've seen all quarter.

I’m sure this will go down exactly as planned with no issues or interruptions! /s
arm32··on Watching Tucson's Backyard Birds with Solar-Powered M1 Mac Mini
Thank you, ramgine! I don't think it would be too difficult—it's been a project on my to-do list for awhile!
arm32··on Advertise in ChatGPT
The difference between investors/users and new-investors/paying-users is so large and wide that I could both walk AND roll around on it.
arm32··on Advertise in ChatGPT
Except this time, the bills are little bit higher!
arm32··on Advertise in ChatGPT
Ah, gotcha. Wasn't sure if I was misremembering. I am no longer confused.

Carl's Jr. now has custody of your child
arm32··on Advertise in ChatGPT
I'm confused. This is (publicly stated) the last resort for OpenAI, right?
arm32··on Show HN: Watch bots interact with an SSH honeypot in real time
Hi tusksm! It's honeypot season! Really cool project, I've been working on a honeypot project of my own right now called `honeyprompt` (https://github.com/alectrocute/honeyprompt) that utilizes LLMs to craft responses and supports multiple protocols. Having a public sink presentation layer like honeypotlive.cc was one of my next todos.
arm32··on The AI Whale Fall and Open Source
I agree completely.
arm32··on What are Forward Deployed Engineers, and why are they so in demand? (2025)
I've done this too, just not under the official FDE title. I've never wanted to end it all so badly before. I felt like a tutor for a bunch of man-babies, who was stuck in a Groundhog Day-esque loop. Heavy breath of relief when the contract ended.
