";" is surrounded by space left and right
":" has no space on the left in English, but it has one in FrenchBeyond Google or Apple, a few startups (like us at wit.ai) are hard at work designing building blocks to help developers solve these problems.
Natural Language can be seen as a very efficient compression algorithm. The phrase the speaker chooses is the shortest message, given the context of the receiver.
Programming a computer with Natural Language is incredibly difficult, because Natural Language alone, without the context it is built upon, really lacks much of the information the computer needs to operate the program.
Wit.AI [1] is an API that makes it easy for developers to create apps that users can talk to.

There is one high-profile, highly successful software entrepreneur
right now who is burning through something like $80 million in venture
funding in his latest startup and has practically nothing to show for it
except for some great press clippings and a couple of beta customers
I'm wondering who Marc is talking about? (it was in 2007). Any idea anybody?I'd love to know how many out of the 716 companies funded so far are still in business per se as independent entities? And among those that are not anymore, what was the exit (successful exit vs. soft landing / acquihire vs. death). I suspect it's really hard to track though, and somewhat subjective.

[...] the best founders would write good and frequent updates because
it reflects their own processes and attention to metrics and consistent
growth.
I don't think the correlation is between "best founders" and "frequent updates". I think the correlation is between "successful startup" and "frequent updates".When your company is doing well, you are happy to report about it. On the contrary when founders feel that their startup is going down, most of them dig a hole and hide there, hoping somehow to resurface when their issues will be solved (which is not of course what we should do... but we do it...).
You should fix this enormous mathematical inconsistency, or everything else you claim is suspicious.
If I understand, it learns what emails mean and what actions should be triggered across all users. So I guess it must store my emails and actions somewhere, to participate to this across-the-board learning. I wonder if users will be concerned about this.
We are building the AI platform that helps 3000+ developers create apps that understand human language [1].
We’d like to hear from you if:
- You are a full-stack software engineer: you know how to build entire projects/features from Web UI to core ML algorithms
- You are curious: you can’t resist the urge to solve hard problems, learn new domains, try new things, and you don’t take “that’s impossible” for an answer
- You have done many mistakes (we know you won’t make them again)
Experience in NLP/Speech/Machine Learning is not required (and actually we also like when you don’t have any: curiosity > knowledge). Being ready to learn/do whatever it takes to succeed, from Clojure to Javascript to supporting users to C to assembling furniture, is expected though.
