aphroz··on Show HN: GPT My Life
I implemented it for fun but really don't expect anyone else to do it.
aphroz··on Show HN: GPT My Life
It should be fixed now

aphroz··on Digitec Galaxus now displays warranty score and return rate
Interestingly enough, the culture of returns in Switzerland is very different compared to the US.

Also the quality of service vs price makes it a very appealing market but very hard to penetrate. This is why international players have always had issues to do so. Swiss customers care more about quality than price.

On Galaxus you can decide to chose slow delivery so you will not necessarly receive your product the next day. But for the same price: https://basic-tutorials.com/news/galaxus-and-digitec-now-del...

aphroz··on Lost Media: Finding Bill Clinton’s “Boxers or Briefs” MTV Moment
That's another proof that things can exist and not be indexed by Google. Soon we'll realize that there's more than what we can see. We will go back to search aggregators like in the 90's.
aphroz··on Meta prohibited from using personal data for advertisement
Also because people are more conscious about their privacy and politics are put in place to protect European citizen from corporation. Its far from perfect but probably better than other places.
aphroz··on Canary Tokens
Good idea, but this would need to be maintained over the years in order to be effective. And you should also trigger it yourself regularly but not too often to make sure it works.
aphroz··on Why hundreds of thousands of kids in the US dread their 21st birthdays
Do you have sources? I am pretty sure you would complain if you were living in the US as well. Did southern Europe dilute northern Europe culture?

Another Coffeezilla case? He will soon be able to build a real 10M studio.
aphroz··on Waymo's collision avoidance testing
I would argue that someone without a driving license will drive more carefully not to gez caught. Also suspended license doesn't make you forget the rules.
aphroz··on The Twitter Files
Both sides believe the same thing, being anti-Apple I believed the same on the opposite side but dang is here to watch and he's pretty impartial imho.

aphroz··on Using an Amiga in 2021: Making an intro
Demoscene is such an interesting form of art. If you are interested, watch this documentary: https://youtu.be/iRkZcTg1JWU The 4k (not the resolution) are very impressive.
aphroz··on Meta Meets Microsoft
Facebook and Teams teaming up together is literally my nightmare.
aphroz··on Ask HN: What Is the New PC?
It's not mutually exclusive, you can still spend time outside.
aphroz··on The obsessive pleasures of mechanical-keyboard tinkerers
Was it really needed to have private jet for that? I feel it could have been shipped in an enveloppe.
aphroz··on Cheap junk flooding Amazon has brand names like MOFFBUZW
Except if you get a fake one
aphroz··on A weird epic ramble about Etsy homepages from the middle 2000’s
So Etsy was a great place and then they "fixed" it and now it's full of Aliexpress garbage thanks to the algorithms. Thanks for telling us how ridiculous it was to ask someone to manually compose the homepage by writing a 55 tweets story.
aphroz··on The MiniDisc deck you hoped to never see [video]
I am very happy to see MD on the first page of HN, I can feel it's making a comeback! There's even new pre-recorded MD coming out. But don't look into it or you will end doing like me. I recently bought 3 different players and it's a bit absurd to pay that much for a lower quality of sound, but it does look cool.
aphroz··on The MiniDisc deck you hoped to never see [video]
Actually MD was everywhere, except in the US. There was a Vaio computer with integrated MD drive and you could store data and audio on it.
aphroz··on Goodbye Medium, hello Ghost
If this was not posted on Medium I could have read it. So another advantage is that Medium is blocked in some countries.
aphroz··on How the Higgs Boson Ruined Peter Higgs’s Life
Or move to a country where you're not famous or people don't care. Some cultures react differently to fame.
aphroz··on Behind the Ferrari and Lamborghini rivalry
This is why I didn't use "improving"
aphroz··on Behind the Ferrari and Lamborghini rivalry
It's still the case in some regions where even young people don't have a good level of Italian as they speak dialect 90% of the time (or more). And I am not sure this will evolve as now people don't watch TV anymore (which is in Italian). There might local youtubers speaking dialect only.
aphroz··on Uber loses appeal as top Swiss court rules company is an employer
Having used Uber in Geneva it was already quite difficult to get a driver and I think the only advantage people see in Uber nowadays is that you can use an app to order your drive and pay. It was not so much cheaper compared to regular taxi. I see this trend not only in Switzerland.
aphroz··on Pedal Me bans staff riders from wearing helmets for safety reasons
Michael Schumacher would disagree.
aphroz··on I'm an addict
We're all being sucked in the internet. It's so easy to become addict to video, podcasts, games, etc. nowadays that I would not be surprised if that becomes a major society issue.
aphroz··on Apple Facing Lawsuit After AirPods Allegedly Ruptured Eardrums with Amber Alert
There should be more than one case of ruptured eardrums if that affects all AirPods. It could be quite a dangerous thing to exploit for an attacker if the volume is not controlled at the hardware level.
