aojdwhsd··on Tesla tells HW3 owner to 'be patient' after 7 years of waiting for FSD
It only nags you if the cabin-facing camera can't tell whether you're keeping your eyes on the road now.
aojdwhsd··on The scam that is Visa Account Updater
I used to work at a different bank, and we were able to disable the auto billing update on a card so that when we went to close the card and send one with a new number, no merchants would be notified of the new account. Some workers didn't know this could be done... I'd be surprised if Wells Fargo didn't have a way to turn this off.

This looks great. How well does the WM12 circulate the air, with the intake and exhaust being so close?
aojdwhsd··on Russian family lived alone in the Siberian wilderness for 40 years (2013)
This reminds me of a two-part documentary about a family living in the Russian far east: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BGo1vMdHEo
aojdwhsd··on NHS 'soup and shake' diet puts almost 1/3 of type 2 diabetes cases in remission
I've been drinking ~1600 calories of Huel Monday-Friday for a little over a year, maybe you could try this.
aojdwhsd··on Slack updates retention policy for free workspaces
Mattermost
aojdwhsd··on Free IRS-run tax filing pilot to be available in 13 states
Are there any details about their tech stack you can share? I know they're using Java (there were pages ending in .jsp when I filed my taxes through them) but that's about it.
aojdwhsd··on OpenWRT 22.03.4
Thanks. There's a message on the page of the newer card "Main board Power Supply design please provide 3.3V 3.5A, minimum 3.3V 3A" - do you think this would be a problem for an APU2?

One more thing - how is the signal range for you?

aojdwhsd··on OpenWRT 22.03.4
Interesting, which Mediatek card are you using? I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
aojdwhsd··on GitHub Actions Incident 29.3
They've actually just rolled out an early version of Gitea Actions in the most recent release, which are mostly compatible with GitHub actions.

aojdwhsd··on Framework announces AMD, new Intel gen, 16“ laptop and more
What will the aspect ratio of the 16" laptop be?
aojdwhsd··on Soylent Acquired by Starco Brands
It was the liquid.
aojdwhsd··on Soylent Acquired by Starco Brands
Does anyone have recommendations for meal replacement drinks like Soylent? I've been consuming Ample exclusively Monday-Friday for quite a while but it's super expensive. I've been looking at Huel since it's much cheaper but looking for opinions, especially from people who have tried both.

I tried Soylent before but I felt hungry pretty much immediately afterward.

aojdwhsd··on Jabber.org has migrated to Prosody IM
There's actually a nice service that lets you make and receive phone calls and texts over XMPP: https://jmp.chat
aojdwhsd··on Show HN: Doxx Me – See how doxxable your phone number is
My report had an old work address listed. Not sure how that could've happened except that I had to have a background check performed while I was already there, and listed the work address as my address.

There was also an associated phone number that I only ever used on my credit card accounts. Hmm.

aojdwhsd··on Tell HN: Transfer your Google domain to other registrar before it locks you out
I've been a ProtonMail paid subscriber with a custom domain for several years. Very happy customer, wouldn't go anywhere else. I haven't needed to contact customer support often, but service was good the few times I did.
aojdwhsd··on Ring Basic Plan 40% Price Increase
The only camera brand I have experience with is Axis Communications (very, very nice cameras, but very, very expensive too). There may be more options now, but back when I was playing with them I was able to configure the camera to record to a Samba share (instead of, or in addition to recording to an SD card).
aojdwhsd··on A Letter to D1sc0rd for Not Supporting the Linux Desktop
I had a longstanding account force me to verify with a phone number not long after I began using Ripcord (it wasn't banned, though, and I stopped using Ripcord after this happened)
aojdwhsd··on I took a job at Amazon, only to leave after 10 months
Any insight you can offer into AWS support roles?
aojdwhsd··on I took a job at Amazon, only to leave after 10 months
Speaking of Amazon, does anyone have any insight into working conditions, etc in the AWS cloud support jobs? Interviewing for this soon.
aojdwhsd··on Zelda 64 has been fully decompiled
Also re3 and reVC (Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, for PC), though it is down for now, pending the outcome of a court filing... https://github.com/GTAmodding/re3
aojdwhsd··on Libimobiledevice – Open-source library to communicate with iOS devices natively
From the (currently broken) FAQ [1]: "Sorry, music synchronization with newer devices is currently not supported but if you are a keen developer why not contribute a new service implementation for the ATC Service?"

aojdwhsd··on Free PDF merging tool that works without any file upload to ensure privacy
qpdf: http://qpdf.sourceforge.net/

It has other neat features too (like stripping print/edit restrictions).

aojdwhsd··on FreeYourMusic lets users migrate their playlists off Spotify
I really like Strawberry [1], a fork of Clementine. "It is a fork of Clementine released in 2018 aimed at music collectors and audiophiles."

aojdwhsd··on Robinhood Accounts Looted, No Customer Support
Citi's internal system for these credit cards sucks. The main application used for account management will tell the worker one thing and do another. Workarounds must be employed by the workers for many routine actions (or things like this happen).
aojdwhsd··on Netgear Firmware Requires Online Registration
Nice! This is exciting as I own an early GS110TPv3. Would a very early firmware image help you in any with this effort (v1.0.0.4)? My switch is booted into a more recent firmware version now (7.x.x.x) but if I recall, the cloud features were not present in 1.0.0.4.
aojdwhsd··on Netgear Firmware Requires Online Registration
I can upload the firmware image v1.0.0.4 from my GS110TPv3 dated 2018-10-04 if anyone is interested... I don't think the cloud features were enabled on this one.
aojdwhsd··on Ask HN: What is the best enterprise software you use every day?
ITRS Geneos for environment monitoring. I just wish they built *BSD binaries.
