SIG did not do an excellent job with the tech, that's for sure, but his point is still valid, that poor implementations of it causes further issues. Also, SIG is quite slow with new features, so companies start adding their own stuff on top of it. With Apple, things like sharing BT pairings over iCloud comes to mind, which is kind of a weird hack. They also do some non-standard switching between LE and Classic on the go.

No, unfortunately I have not added that feature yet, but it is on the list.

https://webcamplus.app has been my pet project for the past two years. It's a webcam app for iOS/macOS. The site itself is just a simple static HTML page hosted on GitHub Pages. The app download image is hosted within a GitHub release. Some basic CSS to handle dark mode, just for fun :)

Honestly, unless you are working with GPU heavy tasks, I would say that both are overkill. I use a Mac Mini M1 16GB and it is more than meets all my software development needs. I mainly work with XCode (iOS), Android Studio (Android), and Visual Studio (.NET).

I really don't think the Max would be worth it over the Pro.

In my native Mac Swift projects typically just generate all the UIKit elements in code and lay them out using NSLayoutConstraints. Once you get a feel for it it is really simple and scales well to different screen dimensions.

I went to music school as a kid and learned to piano and guitar but never really enjoyed it. Then, in my 20s I became a fan of EDM and decided to try producing for myself. I bought a copy of Logic Pro and have been using it ever since. Now 8 years later I still suck at producing and have achieved nothing, but at least it is a fun hobby :)

From my experience, developers often feel pressured to achieve a lot of work in a very short period of time, possibly using technology that they are not so familiar with, in order to build a “Proof of Concept” of something. I have experienced this myself several times. The rest of the company are having fun being creative and “brainstorming” stuff, making presentations, while developers are stressed out in order to finish coding something before end-of-day presentation.

My suggestion is that developers know in advance what they will work on so that they can make sure that the scope is within reason. It also allows them to get started right away in the morning, without needing to wait around for a project to surface. Also, don’t force someone to come up with an idea themselves.

Last fall, during covid-19, I started working on an app to use my iPhone as a webcam for my Mac. I had some interest in it, so I recently released it publicly last month.

There are similar apps out there, but to my knowledge my app is the only one that is both 100% free and supports 1080p @ 30 FPS.

Ok, you are probably right! I just seemed to recall hearing that if you write a code from scratch, that then “happens” to compile exactly into the same binary, then it is a bit of a “gray area” as to if the original owner has copyright or not.

Again, I honestly don’t know for sure, sorry for the confusion.

Actually I don't think so. They have been very careful not to include any copyrighted material in the repository. For example, all game assets are not included. I believe the decompiled code itself can not be copyright protected by nintendo since the decompilation is written from "scratch"... Although I am not fully sure how the law are in regards to that.

This is a fork of the above mentioned sm64-port that adds some additional features.
