Well, try installing this Wine build for Mac and then Steam for Windows under it.
Then run Steam and enable "Steam Play/Proton compatibility" or whatever it's called under its settings.

Next, open Steam and enable the "Steam Play/proton compatibility" in the settings.
I trust machinery designed from Forth and Lisp hackers with TONS of background on CS science and hardware (and math, up to the point on being THE people creating most "new" technology and old ones such as the Floating Point IEEE standard).
In late 90's Amigas were still used in TV studios but they were replaced by NT or Mac machines. And, well, PowerPC Macs where still the serious platform to run Photoshop and the rest of graphic suites (and DTP's) until everyone switched to Windows 2000 and NT, altough a G4 Mac was unbeatable for audio and video producing (it curb-stomped Pentium 3's like nothing) until Intel released Pentium 4's with SSE2's and 2000 with SP4 or XP with SP2 were good enough with either a Geforce 3 or a Radeon 7500 series and up.
Also here we are running Amd64 (64 bit Intel, but I use Amd64 for the original architecture) games into ARM with the translation layer. It might have a performance penalty but most WIndows games are Amd64/i386 CPUs anyway.
The video link I gave to you it's a guide to setup Windows' Steam release under MacOS+Wine. Once it's installed you just click on the launcher and that's it, Intel PC Steam under your Mac.
Such as https://github.com/Sikarugir-App/Sikarugir
Steps to compile it by hand (if you want a bit more of performance):
Install homebrew
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
Then, run this commands in the terminal to build and install Wine: brew upgrade
brew trust Sikarugir-App/sikarugir
brew install --cask Sikarugir-App/sikarugir/sikarugir
/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license

Here you don't compile anything, just install them and that's it. Altough the compiled Wine might give you a few FPS' more. Also, the Rosetta related command/installation it's mandatory to translate x86 instructions to ARM.
su -l npm
Then, just in case, run it under bubblewrap so it just can use $HOME and nothing more. And, yes, I remember w32codecs until MPlayer's bundled set superseded them. And mencoder for sure ;)
And pencils. Any mediocre artist can deduce the anatomy of everyone under the clothes.
Also Alpine Linux (32 bit, the extended edition for better hw) will run faster than Antix.
