anonymouswacker··on CDC removes 30K Covid deaths – reduces pediatric deaths by 24%
The inflation of numbers needs to be analyzed and investigated, given the incentive for the medical industry to defraud our beloved government & insurance companies in the US.

I'm guessing your American "news" outlets, CNN and MSNBC, are telling you it's important to wave the American flag and bless this war in Ukraine. Zelenskyy isn't a neo-Nazi, but nice diversion. A lot of Ukrainians, and Eastern Europeans in general, are nationalists and even neo-nazis, and for good reason: as a response to the horrors of communism via the soviet union and the American hegemony's exploitation, they can't find much else to agree on. Just like how Donald Trump's MAGA movement gained so much power in response to Democrats & Republicans rape of the middle class and warmongering. Look up these terms: Manufacturing Consent and the Propaganda Model[0], and Useful Idiot [1]. Yes, it appears the Russians are not bombing civilians indiscriminately like the US did early in the war. Of course warfare tech has improved since then, but also Russia has an interest in preserving Ukraine, and simply getting rid of its racist, puppet government.
anonymouswacker··on Node-ipc supply chain attack: peacenotwar
How is this not virtual terrorism? It targets a section of users indiscriminately (it ain't hitting Putin's Government exclusively), and it causes damage to make a political point.
anonymouswacker··on YouTube suspends The Hill for playing clip of Trump denying election results
YouTube is just a wolf in sheep's clothing; another media outlet disguised as a sharing platform.

“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses. The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make the criminal look like he’s a the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. This is the press, an irresponsible press. It will make the criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” ― Malcom X

anonymouswacker··on The Goat Boy Rises (1993)
Bill Hicks died at 32, in 1994, so he lived through 12 years straight of Republicans ('81-'93), and presumably thought maybe Bill Clinton and the Democrats would be different. Had he lived longer, I'm sure he would have been as salty about the Democrats being liars, too. Just like those who lived through 8 years of G.W. Bush in their formative years probably thought that Obama would be much different, with all of the propaganda about hope & change, etc.

Chomsky still telling people to strategically vote for Democrats vs. starting a new party (like the People's Party[0], a populist-focused, anti-corporate party) is pretty inexcusable, though, but that's beside the point.

If you like Bill Hicks' far left view, you might like Jimmy Dore [1], too. Though he's more of a "pothead club comedian".

anonymouswacker··on The Goat Boy Rises (1993)
Bill Hicks was the first person to make me really think. It took a few years of listening to him and regurgitating his talking points in my head while I was a teenager until I learned to really understand the world through his eyes -- a brutally honest critique. Thank you for posting this reminder that one man searching for truth can survive the censorship of "liberal" media. Bill Hicks was an avowed leftist, and yet a critic of the American "left". He was "Chomsky with dick jokes".
anonymouswacker··on Delta CEO wants U.S. to put unruly passengers on 'no-fly' list
Exactly!

Also, take away a person's license for life if they assault someone while driving!

If they're rude in a restaurant/grocery store/etc., just ban them from society forever!

Make one mistake, and you're fucked for life!

anonymouswacker··on Man found guilty of ‘grossly offensive’ tweet
They need to bring in witnesses that thought it was a shite joke, mate, and bloody uninspired. Sir Tom was a cunt but deserved better.
anonymouswacker··on Why is there no theory of the just riot? (2021)
In that case, the "Capitol Riot" was probably the most justified riot of 2021 in the US, yet the media (state-sponsored and affiliated) would disagree. Operation Mockingbird [1], anyone?

anonymouswacker··on Poll: Why are people leaving their jobs?
The organization lost my respect once they mandated that I get a health procedure in order to work for them. I received an "exemption", but the damage was done: I no longer believe the organization is a net positive for me because they will play political games, and I am just a pawn.
anonymouswacker··on Farmers facing fertiliser sticker shock may cut use
The US Gov needs to act fast, like Trump did in 2020, to subsidize agriculture before this crisis culminates in food shortages.
anonymouswacker··on Trolls will be jailed for ‘psychological harm’
How can they know the intent? UK government is increasingly becoming a nightmare dystopia. I doubt many "antivaxers" are knowingly spreading false information. What the government/establishment/authority-de-jure says is the truth is rarely the whole truth.
anonymouswacker··on Most Covid-19 hospitalizations due to four conditions
No.
anonymouswacker··on The search for people who never get Covid
Knowing now that COVID-19 was most likely created in a lab, and that most governments lack the will or wherewithal to address it, what is to stop the "bad guys" from using this same information (natural antibodies) to create the next iteration that is more deadly? I personally lost trust in most corporations that can easily be bought out. In cyber sec terms, the same hands funding the Red Team (virology lab in Wuhan) are profiting from the Blue Team (pharma). It's like the Broken Window fallacy except killing people.
anonymouswacker··on In Re-Analysis, Ivermectin Benefits Disappeared as Trial Quality Increased
Wikipedia is not a group one should trust for medical and nutritional information or a fair & balanced view of most controversial topics, given its funding & obvious biases.
anonymouswacker··on Feds order Google to track people searching certain names or details
The golden age of the centralized Search Engine is over. We need something like a decentralized, Search-Engine-As-A-Service that holds data, allows customizable algorithms/censorship/etc.
anonymouswacker··on There will soon be no more ads denying climate change on Google
It’s dangerous to allow corporations to be so big, especially ones that literally sell influence… whatever happened to antitrust? Why is white collar crime so profitable?
anonymouswacker··on I’m a Data Scientist – Here’s why I work at Facebook
I can think of 300-450 thousand reasons to work at Facebook as a DS, but that's it.
anonymouswacker··on Delta does not appear to make children sicker
Yes, but if you catch covid and survive it, you should do the right thing and still get vaccinated against it, because that is more betterer, according to the the completely unbiased media that they happen to be injecting with cash while they otherwise circle the drain.
anonymouswacker··on Tesla’s headquarters will move to Austin
This is good for California.
anonymouswacker··on Americans' Trust in Media Dips to Second Lowest on Record
The deregulation of the '90's, combined with questionable court decisions, and the resulting interference with Government in media--not to mention the rise of social media & big tech's influence and the resulting wane of traditional media's--has brought us to the point where most media orgs have no incentive to act trustworthy. It's just not profitable any more!
anonymouswacker··on Whistleblower to Congress: Facebook products harm kids and democracy
Strategically speaking, it may be wise for her career prospects & image to appear like she is still loyal to the Corp.
anonymouswacker··on Hunter S. Thompson Interview on Gonzo Journalism (1975) [video]
Sorry, I'm sometimes snarky in the mornings. Giving the OP the benefit of the doubt, I presume they meant that correlation does not always equal causation, but that there is a middle ground of the "unknown" rather than just the inverse of a logical, mathematical statement. If you see a pattern from enough correlations, then you might let go of some of your own hubris. It's not black and white, and so on.
anonymouswacker··on Gates Foundation has spent $250M on journalism
“Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” - Ecclesiastes 1:2

Perhaps spending money to influence thought would have been better spent on true charity.

anonymouswacker··on Hunter S. Thompson Interview on Gonzo Journalism (1975) [video]
Thanks for illustrating that you “half-understoood” the argument.
anonymouswacker··on YouTube is banning anti-vaccine activists and blocking all anti-vaccine content
One would think YouTube could hear the Rumble-ing happening right now.
anonymouswacker··on U.S. to open program to replace Huawei equipment in U.S. networks
We can call it a stimulus, or paying them to fix a broken window.
anonymouswacker··on Ask HN: Frameworks for thinking through your thoughts and feelings?
Rather than (only) a logical framework, perhaps something like psychoanalysis or psychedelic therapy would be more beneficial or complementary.
anonymouswacker··on Tell HN: YouTube has a spam problem, and it's getting worse
Lower standards because they need more $. Buyer beware, no accountability, short term thinking. The marketing-advertising bubble is perhaps starting to pop.
