annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Does removing Google Analytics penalise a website in Google search?
Well i've read a similar report to what you're attaching from another privacy focused analytics.

https://usefathom.com/blog/google-analytics-seo

They argue that it's better (?) because your website will be faster.

"This is because Fathom’s tracking code is super-lightweight and blazingly-fast to load. Our tracker file is tiny whilst Google Analytics’ file is much larger. This is a little funny, because Google’s search engine rewards faster sites, so a case could be made that using Fathom instead of Google for your analytics could potentially increase your page rank in their own search engine!"

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: What alternatives are there to Reddit? Mods have ruined the site
There are some cool discord servers out there, what kind of communities are you looking for?
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Is anyone using Fastmail for their business?
I do! It's just me an my cofounder, we love it.

Privacy focused, good shared calendar.

The UI is not always my cup of tea but I still choose it instead of Google or other services just because of the product mission.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: How do you find tools?
twitter, producthunt, hackernews mostly. But twitter is more spot on.
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Are YouTube Comments Working?
Same not working + some google features!
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: How do you know when you are burning out?
I totally know when I'm burning out!

Low energy and meaningless procrastination is tell tell signs, also time spent on twitter or youtube is.

I became some kind of expert in managing my pre-burn out parts. I usually recognize that it is happening, and take a break for 1 day or 2. I also have an accountability buddy with whom we speak once a week and update each other on our projects. So talking to them also helps me to get out of that rut. Sometimes outside perspective helps.

But yeah my thing is: recognize it's happening, take a break (if you can), and talk to somebody who's not in your field.

annagrigoryan2··on Show HN: Reddit search engine for startup founders
I hate to be that typical hackernews commenter that says "Oh this is already done for free by this thing".

But I use this open source project https://anvaka.github.io/redsim/ for that purposes.

Unless there's something else I don't see here, i think this open source thingy gives all you need.

annagrigoryan2··on Play with TailwindCSS in the Browser
I use this a lot! Also I love the youtube channel that they have Tailwind labs, as a non-css person I appreciate how easy my life is with Tailwind.
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: How to Quit Social Media?
Subscribe to newsletters and podcasts, get their RSS feeds plug to Feedly.
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Share Your Personal Site
https://communityweekly.co

I write about communtiy creator economy and startups for creatives.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Is Product Hunt Worth It?
Depends for what.

I got to #3 on producthunt last year and still get traffic from them. Does it convert to users? On the day of launch I got 600 new users but they were not very active.

Imo it's a shiny new toy syndrome place. They have a lot of eyes on their website so you can leverage that. The people will try your product just because.

But marketing strategy should be more complex then just launching on product hunt.

In terms of launching its just for 1 very tiring day.

annagrigoryan2··on SHOW HN: Can you make $1000 as an Uber driver?
The most I got after all expenses was $800, sad.
annagrigoryan2··on Tell HN: Apple rejecting cross platform apps (React Native, Flutter, Capacitor)
I mean I wouldn't be surprized if they did, but glad to see in comments that this is a glitch. I'm building an app now :D
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: What is the best European countries for founding startups and companies?
I'm in Lithuania for 1 year already, and I'd say depends on what kind of company you want to found.

Here in Baltics it's very good for B2B SaaS fintech, deep tech, and that kinda stuff.

Everywhere else e-commerse is big.

Also depends if you're bootstrapping or fundraising. Fundraising is easier if you're incorporated in Estonia, in other countries no one cares, you'll still need to incorporate in US with C-Corp.

The community in Europe is still forming imo.

annagrigoryan2··on Why do you need LinkedIn? (non-recruiters)
A friend once said that Linkedin is like a place with hostages that are instructed to be happy all the time.

It's just a place where a bunch of corporates and startup people say how cool they are.

However surprisingly I heard that for the folks who are looking to fundraise is the best place to be. So I guess if you're not looking for work or funding no? There's Polywork (https://polywork.com) that tries to replace linkedin. Gotta wait to see if it works out.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Why don't podcasts/audiobooks have closed captions for misheard words?
For podcasts only human transcription works good. Tech still is very hard on people with accents, even worse with non-english languages.

And human transcription costs like a lot 45 cents a word, imagine a 1 hour conversation.

annagrigoryan2··on Show HN: A new way to fight manipulation in news
I suppose the true problem is to understand the source of financing behind the media organizations. The ideas are pretty easy to understand, what drives them. But in this case you gotta follow the money.
annagrigoryan2··on Show HN: Form Builder, Reimagined
I like the idea, but I think pricing is very overcomplicated. I personally use Tally.so for my form, and I like the simplicity of their pricing.
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: What activities help you rest and recharge?
I read a book, or go for walk. Near my house there's a nice river, so i go and sit close to it.

Really helps.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: How does the “Events from Gmail” to Google Calendar feature work?
I literally just now learned that this kind of feature exists. I use Calendly and now started to look into Cron (https://cron.com/) for this.

Increasingly I want to stop relying on google for essential services.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Mailing list providers with global deliverability?
Circle.so can be a good alternative I think.

They are marketing themselves towards content and course creators, however the structure of their community is geared towards creating long discussions, and long form writing.

I'm a member of a neuroscience community hosted on circle, it works great.

as a cherry on top you can host it on your own website, and change the appearance.

the only con i see is the pricing.

annagrigoryan2··on The future of search is boutique
I"m an engineer, but also a writer, so as my writer self i totally feel the inability of Google to find quality information.

Just from performance perspective I can see that the listicles and how to's are doing better then any other niche topics.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Do You Listen to Podcasts?
RSS is sooo cool! There are so many rss readers launching, but they stop being active eventually because there's not a lot of people that still actively use it.

I use RSS for my newsletters, gather all of them in one place with Zapier.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Do You Listen to Podcasts?
on what app you listen to your podcasts? is it spotify?
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Do You Listen to Podcasts?
why you stopped?
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Do You Listen to Podcasts?
where are you looking for audiobooks? I'm constantly torn to get audible
annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: Do You Listen to Podcasts?
how many podcasts do you listen on regular bases?
annagrigoryan2··on Show HN: Play with webhooks, free, no account, on any-sub-domain.webhook.store
Oh my god thank you! This makes so much of my work easier!
annagrigoryan2··on Show HN: Story of Creating a LinkedIn Alternative
How is this different from Polywork (https://polywork.com)?

I feel like if this is for intros/hiring a simple community would've worked better.

annagrigoryan2··on Ask HN: How did you discover HN?
a bunch of people on twitter were bragging that they got a lot of traffic from this site called hackernews...
