Ask HN: Are YouTube Comments Working?

In addition to YouTube comments, I can't load Google Photos conversations with people I've shared photos to or activity on shared albums.

Man I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

I'm on a bottom bin Android device right now, and chalked it up to the instability of the device fucking something up again

Same not working + some google features!

Same here. It seems like it's trying to load them though, showing the spinning indicator.

YouTube comments have been broken for me for a while now (a year or two) on Firefox with uBlock. I see the comments list and avatars, but no text. I don't mind it enough to disable uBlock.

Are these errors regional or general? Are there cases where applications such as youtube run services in different versions depending on the region?

I can confirm I saw this happen today

I think this is intentional behavior on Google’s part, to disincentivize use of ad blockers.

Same. Have you looked at client vs server? I'm on FF on Linux.

Just half hour ago, comments on videos cannot be seen.

I disabled uBlock and they started showing up again.

Loading progress...then no actual comments shown.

FF on Linux.

Ok in FF on Android.

on edge they still work
