anhldbk··on Show HN: ShadowCat – file transfer through QR Codes in a Browser
I also implemented a static web with that idea: https://github.com/anhldbk/get-beam
anhldbk··on Tell HN: Anthropic no longer allowing Claude Code subscriptions to use OpenClaw
I guess Anthropic will scrutinize big open source projects for that purpose. The direct official integrations will be removed.
anhldbk··on Claude Code's source code has been leaked via a map file in their NPM registry
I guess it's time for Anthropic to open source Claude Code.
anhldbk··on AI tools are making me lose interest in CS fundamentals
Well, it depends. There's no right or wrong answer here.

Simon wrote an article "What is agentic engineering?" [1]

> Now that we have software that can write working code, what is there left for us humans to do? > The answer is so much stuff. > Writing code has never been the sole activity of a software engineer. The craft has always been figuring out what code to write. Any given software problem has dozens of potential solutions, each with their own tradeoffs. Our job is to navigate those options and find the ones that are the best fit for our unique set of circumstances and requirements

Such navigations may require various skills. For example: people/product skills (e.g customer empathy) to determine what to build, or engineering skills (e.g optimizations). Please be open for learning and get stronger via feedbacks.

anhldbk··on Document poisoning in RAG systems: How attackers corrupt AI's sources
So true.
anhldbk··on Why xor eax, eax?
Yes, it's one of my favorite trick also.
anhldbk··on Migrating the main Zig repository from GitHub to Codeberg
Well said. It's not good to see such arguments like these.
anhldbk··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (July 2025)
No bluetooth. Just use cameras & screens.
anhldbk··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (July 2025)
I'm working on Beam, a web app that lets you transfer files between nearby devices using QR codes - completely offline, with no servers involved, and leaving absolutely no trace.

Beam is perfect for sharing sensitive documents, transferring files when you can't use USB, email, or cloud storage.

Try it here: https://get-beam.vercel.app

anhldbk··on Why Koreans ask what year you were born
Most Vietnamese do the same things too.
anhldbk··on Foundation DB Record Layer SQL API
At last Foundationdb has SQL Layer. AFAIK the initial discussion was in 2018 [1]

[1] SQL layer in FoundationDB, https://forums.foundationdb.org/t/sql-layer-in-foundationdb/...

anhldbk··on Exposed DeepSeek database leaking sensitive information, including chat history
Good finding. I don't see its timeline usually discussed in other Ethical hacking and responsible disclosures.
anhldbk··on Ollama releases Python and JavaScript Libraries
Interesting. But the gguf file for llama2 is 4.78 GB in size.

For ollama, llama2:7b is 3.8 GB. See: https://ollama.ai/library/llama2/tags. Still I see ollama requires less RAM to run llama 2

anhldbk··on The V Programming Language
There's a review here [1]. There are unprovable claims, e.g: Innovative memory management, Null Safety, Immutability.

anhldbk··on Ask HN: Is back end dev generally easier than front end?
A big NO.

IMHO no matter end at which you work, it takes time to truely master necessary skills.

Find a mentor. He/she may show you the way.

Btw, I find this book interesting: "So Good They Can't Ignore You: Why Skills Trump Passion in the Quest for Work You Love" [1]

anhldbk··on [dead]
10 years. Still I remember his speech at Stanford 2005 [1]

"Death is the destination we all share, no one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be because death is very likely the single best invention of life."

anhldbk··on ClickHouse: An open-source column-oriented database management system
How about using CDC with Apache Kafka?
anhldbk··on Designing Engineering Organizations
Correct! This is an interesting book about organization design.
anhldbk··on SaaS Needs a Single Point of Purchase
What does PO mean?
anhldbk··on Technical debt as a lack of understanding
What an interesting metaphor. Thanks!
anhldbk··on Fastly hires entire Wasmtime team from Mozilla
> One might argue there's no advantage to the company laying-off people, but they could save on the severance package, and frankly, two companies entering an understanding like this bodes well on other levels where someone could probably explore a "cross-company" job change with blessings of the employers on both sides of the table.

I really like your idea. It should be one of management ethics: caring for staffs even if you have to say goodbye.

anhldbk··on Ask HN: Suggestions for books about API design?
If you use gRPC, I think you can see Google API Design [1] useful.

anhldbk··on Greatest Java apps
There's a competition between Micronaut vs Quarkus also. Pls have a look
anhldbk··on A Hierarchy of Engineering Values
This reminds me of The Golden Circle by Simon: https://simonsinek.com/commit/the-golden-circle
anhldbk··on Ask HN: How do you manage self-study?
Sounds great! Any recommended book/link ?
anhldbk··on Elixir v1.10
Congrat :D
anhldbk··on Reality has a surprising amount of detail (2017)
Actually you only see what you wanna see, right?
anhldbk··on Tony Brooker, creator of Mark 1 Autocode, has died
Thanks for correcting code :3

anhldbk··on Glush: A robust parser compiler built using non-deterministic automatons
Thanks for sharing. Currently I'm looking for an elegant language for querying Json structures. In addition to JsonPath, JMESPath, Glush & GROQ is definitely worth a try
