andrewstetsenko··on Almost no skill required to cook a steak
I prefer to both cook steaks at home and go out for them.

Apart from that, I want to believe (and even notice tiny signals) that this sentiment is becoming more understandable among business leaders.

andrewstetsenko··on Ask HN: Do you have side income as a software engineer?
Valid point and well summarised.

I'm curious what direction you drive for your different things, still internet-related or more grounded and connected to the real, physical world?

andrewstetsenko··on How to search Remote-from-Anywhere jobs
I curate the list of such jobs. You can check them out in the introductory edition - https://relocateme.substack.com/p/work-from-anywhere-tech-jo...
andrewstetsenko··on Pathology in the Hundred Acre Wood: a neurodevelopmental perspective
The whole point of bringing up that (satirical) Winnie-the-Pooh study was to show that very different people can still work and live together in the same group. That mix is part of the benefit.

We don’t always talk about how community itself supports people with different mental and neural traits. It just shows that diversity can hold a group together rather than break it apart.

andrewstetsenko··on Developer jobs that help you move states
Would you be interested in curated, handpicked job lists for US remote roles?
andrewstetsenko··on LinkedIn will soon use your data to train AI. Here's what you can do to opt out
Unfortunately, auto-defaulting to such 'training' purposes will become the standard setting on most social media platforms and marketplaces.

andrewstetsenko··on Show HN: I built a text-based birthday reminder app
It's a simple yet necessary app.

Is there a way to import my friends' birthdays from Facebook? It's by far the biggest database of birthdays that I'm using.

andrewstetsenko··on Find Your People
Such a wake-up call to take ownership of your direction, rather than waiting for the next “station” to appear.
andrewstetsenko··on Tech Work Overseas: Country Guides
Spain is almost ready. It will be online next week
andrewstetsenko··on If you want to move abroad, find a remote job first
A lot of digital nomad visas are good for up to a year and can be extended. Once you're in a new country, it's way easier to find another legal way to stay, even look for a job, as you mentioned.

andrewstetsenko··on Relocating for Tech Jobs in 2025
The tech hiring market is pretty turbulent now, indeed.

Regarding Europe as a preference, this data is based on users from 120+ countries. For many developers outside of the US, relocation itself might be a goal. I'd say that from the perspective of the user group we surveyed, Canada was ranked even higher than the US for moving to.

andrewstetsenko··on Show HN: I made an app for coffee shops to go to work and network with others
I always wanted to have a website/application like this (with a focus on specialty coffee), but it could be so hard to maintain and reach on a global scale. It might work for some local markets, but it's hard to get traction for such initiatives.
andrewstetsenko··on Is College Worth It?
Not exactly in tech, but some other industries might work pretty well.

I've recently stumbled upon a Supply Chain online course at MIT that takes 1.5 years with really decent content. This is obviously less than getting a traditional bachelor's degree.

andrewstetsenko··on Show HN: Route your prompts to the best LLM
How easy is it to integrate our own data for training the router, and what kind of improvements can we expect from this customization?
andrewstetsenko··on Ask HN: Good Resources for UX/UI
I'd consider diving into A/B testing. For UX/UI designers, it will literally help your products generate additional revenue.

You can read this comprehensive guide on A/B Testing by Tony Hancock - https://medium.com/@ashancock/the-art-of-the-a-b-test-statis...

andrewstetsenko··on Beeper acquired by Automattic
At some point, it makes sense to join forces for Beeper and texts.com to create a unified messaging app. The idea was realized a number of times, but I hope we’ll see the best it’s iteration now.
andrewstetsenko··on Ask HN: How do you explore emerging technologies/trends?
I expected this answer :)
andrewstetsenko··on Is Europe better than America for working in tech?
It's great that you can adapt to your natural night owl tendencies, but I can see how coordinating with clients across different time zones could present its own set of hurdles for those less accustomed to it. How do you navigate those time differences effectively?"
