Somehow I can't tell you any specific examples off the top ofbmy head.
You don't even need to have Authy installed. The script pretends to be a new device and gets the keys from your backup. (You might need to run chmod +x for execute permission)
Anyway, Aegis and Ente have export options, Aughy doesn't.
If you find the source or news article please share!
Ente has free backups and it's own encrypted export format, which sounds promissing.
Also, remember Floorp Browser? Sounds similar.
I am under a rock about weddings. How is this different from taking pictures normaly with your phone camera? (With a cloud backup)
Aren't the disposeabke cameras about being physical and non-distracting? I feel like this misses whatever the key aspect of disposeable cameras is.
Though it is true that LibreOffice, ffmpeg, and Linux are successful and widely used, I was much more curious whether the small ShowHN ones got anywhere. And I barely found any.
All (recent) FOSS success stories come from the proprietary apps being so screwed up. (At least that's my impression)
There is lots of other cool stuff like a Santa Tracker: https://santatracker.google.com/
I initially went through google subdomain lists on github, but many of them just redirected to the main search engine.
With how many things Google has killed, its hard to remember how many are still alive.
And thanks for sharing Internet Places DB.
I was trying to relay that it is an enormous resource by Google but somehow nobody talks about it. (At least I haven't heard about it, which is odd considering its size.)
The title does sound a bit clickbaity, please tell me what title I should have used instead.
There should be a leading slash (/) for root. So #!/usr/bin/python3
And for the file to execute you have to give yourself execution permission with "chmod +x myscript.py"
Here is something you might want to learn about: "shebangs" they are those #!usr/bin/python3 thingies on the first line, and you can run python scripts with ./myscript.py just like you would run shell scripts and binaries.
(One that explains why every step is necessary, and what exactly it does in greater detail, as well as the underlying structures. YT tutorials are a bit outdated and are bad at explaining details.)
How much of him being a hero is a coincidence? Did he refuse to sign the previous launches? Did NASA have reasons to believe that the launch could be successful? How much of a role does probability play here. I mean if someone literally tells you something isn't safe, especially the person who made it, you can't tell him it will work. There is somekind of bias here.
There is nothing less anoying than seeing a really custom font repeat a letter.
Not an expert myself, but I think cleaning up and reinstalling your whole OS once in a while probably deals with malware.
Techy people here on HN can easily circumvent Google Search result issues, the real harm is for the average user.
Ways to deal with terrible Google Search results:
1. For complex computer problems, Google search is still has the biggest index, and less affected by SEO spam.
2. When using Google as substitute for a websites builting engine, google dorks get the job done.
3. Modern browsers allow you to switch enginees on the fly from the address bar (eg. Brave Browser has :w which instantly switches to Wikipedia) and there are similar keywords for opening bookmark.
4. If I know where I want to go, I go there directly using those shortcuts.
5. When looking for inspiration or quality stuff to read I search hn.algolia.com, use Brave Search Goggles or any other "custom" browser enginees that give results for specific topic.
6. Ask ChatGPT or some other Chatbot. (Results differ, but it works sometimes)
7. I have collected by own sites and bookmarks over time.
The only thing I don't know how to search are Product Reviews.
I think "general" search enginees are in decline, and (techy people) are gking back to pretty much manual indexing.
We shouldn't point and laugh at other people for getting screwed over by companies, but critizise the companies committing the crimes.
I might be wrong, and if I am please tell me.
Screwing the user is the trend in all industries now.
My only "new" observation is that websites hosted by universities have PDFs better than $200 dollar textbooks. But I don't know how to search for them at scale yet.
The core value humanity needs right now is a significant change in culture where opposition to normalization and mainstream is promoted, and nonsense is actively fought against.
Even Hackernews is slighly more mainstream than I would prefer with wordy nonsensical articles constantly showing up.
And I don't know what to do about it, nobody does. All the good content is extremely hard to find. It took me years to realize the Indie Web existed and even it is slightly tilted to the mainstream.
Humans just don't care about the stuff that matters. It was all figured out many years ago, but is now burried behind mountains of "innovations."
Unfortunately the more random the sequence, the harder it is to build association groups around it. But I guess this is good enough after a bit of practice.
Thanks
