Did they give you a reasoning for this guidance?
I don't do any professional development on my iPad, I just like having the ability to mosh/ssh back into my machines at home to run a script or push a quick edit to my personal github.
I would argue that they still pride themselves in the execution of the designs, even if you (and I) disagree with some of the design direction.

If you go to Windows and use Lightroom, why not stay on your mac?
If you go to Linux and use FSpot or Darktable, you can get them both on a Mac too.

500 cycles at 8 cycles per day. Does that not mean that they expect the battery will fail after 62 days?

The article did not suggest that the restaurant forces people to eat everything on their plates. They just compost whatever food is left behind and don't throw it away.

I don't have "smart" thermostats, they can only be programmed with the buttons on the front of them and they cannot talk to one another, but how do you turn down the heat when you leave for the day? or even set different temperatures for daytime and nighttime? manually?
Concatenating the commands with &&, adding "--no-install-recommends", and adding " && apt-get clean && rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*" to the Dockerfile seems much more straightforward and maintainable.
