alexandra_au··on CrofAI Is an OpenRouter Wrapper
CrofAI accepts the openrouter:advisor tool, completely unexpected for an independent inference provider. Recording the results of using this tool across every model shows CrofAI is an OpenRouter wrapper that silently routes to cheaper or weaker models than what you request, explaining its low prices. Proof that this was true at the time of writing follows later.

These models are routed to DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731:

    deepseek-v4-pro-0813
    glm-5.3-flash
    glm-5.2
    qwen3.8-27b
    qwen3.5-397b-a17b
    deepseek-v3.2
    deepseek-v4-pro
    kimi-k2.7-code
    kimi-k2.6
    kimi-k2.6-precision
    mimo-v2.5-pro
    qwen3.6-27b

Not to be "that" person but it's not solved. The feet are reversed and isn't accurate bird anatomy. In real life, what people think of as bird's feet is actually their toes, and their "knee" is actually their tarsal (ankle bone), and their actual knee is almost hidden in their feathers.
alexandra_au··on GLM-5.3-Flash
OpenAI is being sued by Apple, yes
alexandra_au··on Ask HN: What is one simple thing LLMs are insanely bad at?
Being able to read and translate Egyptian hieroglyphs. You may think this is silly but a trained LLM to translate hieroglyphs would be amazing.
alexandra_au··on Show HN: I made a Raspberry with Qwen my local car AI
It's nothing that tool calling/feeding it the correct information can't solve
alexandra_au··on Ox Alpha
Been running tests, seems pretty capable but less knowledgeable, and the CoT reminds me of GLM, so if I had to guess it's almost definitely a Chinese model, and likely a western RL trained variant of a Chinese open weight.
alexandra_au··on Kimi-K3 Releases on HuggingFace 7/27
If you click the provider it shows the precision, 45% off at AkashML shows FP8. The drawback is the small context window, at 96k.

Then there's 43% off at StreamLake with FP8 precision and 1M context window.

alexandra_au··on Claude Code uses Bun written in Rust now
grep -nr 'unsafe' .

Is all you need to know to consider how much of an abomination it is

alexandra_au··on Ask HN: Has anyone replaced Claude/GPT with a local model for daily coding?
You have your dates and models wrong, it was Opus 4.5 released in November 2025, that changed everything, Opus 4.6 was released in February 2026.
alexandra_au··on A backdoor in a LinkedIn job offer
I feel like there's only going to be more attempts like this, given the state of how many recently made redundant software engineers out there, and the level of desperation to find a job.
alexandra_au··on We are retiring our bug bounty program
They see it as an investment, they're basically shooting in the dark hoping they'll hit their target and get a bounty payout.
alexandra_au··on We are retiring our bug bounty program
>You start by rejecting those PRs, saying "write more maintainable code, not quick hacks".

How do you go about that when for example, my previous employer just allowed any software developer to commit to any branch, and there was never any code review happening?

alexandra_au··on GitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billing
It was going to happen regardless due to the nature of enshittification. If they really wanted to stop people using 100M tokens a day, they could've prevented it years ago.
alexandra_au··on Claude Code to be removed from Pro Tier?
It's possible that Anthropic sees that the loss of $20/mo customers could be offset by the customers purchasing the $100/mo plan
alexandra_au··on Changes to GitHub Copilot individual plans
It's quite telling, they've paused new signups because Microsoft doesn't have enough compute, and they moved Opus to only being accessible on a higher tier because Anthropic doesn't have enough compute either.

They're all operating at a loss, enshittification is coming for us all.
