An article with accompanying paper link that makes a similar point. With a little epidemiology thrown in to boot: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/research-review/straight-ta...

Exceptionally creative people are frequently eccentric. Eccentric people are not frequently exceptionally creative.
ajslater··on Full-fat-dairy for cardiovascular health
Saturated fat is not "bad" for you. Not getting enough essential fatty acids (polyunsaturated fats) is bad for you. Not having enough unsaturated fats either through dietary intake or conversion from EFAs is bad for you. Having a high Omega-6 to Omega-3 EFA balance may be bad for you.

correct. usually with refined carbohydrates. which is a much more probable bugbear of modern health. Along with high omega-6 to omega-3 fat ratios.

Be it known that, waiving all argument, I take the good old fashioned ground that the whale is a fish, and call upon holy Jonah to back me. This fundamental thing settled, the next point is, in what internal respect does the whale differ from other fish. Above, Linnaeus has given you those items. But in brief they are these: lungs and warm blood; whereas, all other fish are lungless and cold blooded.

I know several people in $300K+/yr treadmill jobs. I wouldn't trade places with them for all the world.

I like to think that if I found myself with their salary I would have my priorities in a different order, but there's no guarantee of that. My own sense of avarice and comfort has changed a lot since my 20's.

Yours Truly: 198lbs and stronger than any woman at that weight, but weaker than record holding SHW women.

ajslater··on The bitter truth about fructose alarmism
The princeton study is very poor science. Here's a good summary of why: http://www.foodpolitics.com/2010/03/hfcs-makes-rats-fat/

And here's a longer article about why at Ars: http://arstechnica.com/science/news/2010/03/does-high-fructo...
