aj_nikhil··on What UI density means and how to design for it
After talking to many users I have realized , most of them want a Single page app. They want to get their work done. They don't multiple pages, just one simple page to do everything and finish their work. Good UIs(mostly dense) try to enable it and they are loved by users.

aj_nikhil··on The effects of remote work on collaboration among information workers
WFH is poor for intra-team communication and rapport building. Companies won't want to take this risk. It only works for experienced individual contributors like freelancers, who aren't many. Good things are created only by collaboration. The collaboration suffers in WFH. Let's come back to this in next 6 months. Don't delete your comment.
aj_nikhil··on The effects of remote work on collaboration among information workers
Normal work from office as past will resume in next few months. WFH is not sustainable or enjoyable experience for most people.
aj_nikhil··on Ask HN: How Do You Learn?
I start with reading a theoretical textbook then move towards implementation (with the help of videos) if possible. Then come back to the textbook and implementation so on. Talking to someone who has an expertise in that subject helps too. Slowly the concept is formed in the brain and with more practice the concept solidify. At the end of the day the more you do and read is more you learn . Theory and practical are both important to me.

aj_nikhil··on Ask HN: Startup Idea Feedback – Pocket Money for Learning
Foolish idea for this makes learning as a means to an end(money) rather than an end in itself. I pray for the children who have to go through this .

aj_nikhil··on How I raised a $5.1M seed as a first-time, female, solo founder for a biotech co
1. Doing something which is highly desirable & not many people can do.

2. Having great credentials.

3. Being connected in VC industry.

With above three elements its not tough to raise initial capital. Difficulty will arise in next round as that will depend on your ability to demonstrate success given the funding. This path is for people who are highly connected and influential. Not for common blokes.

aj_nikhil··on Ask HN: How to build empathy?
1. Keep your mouth shut even when you have the urge to speak. Give people chance of speak their hearts. 2. You have to understand that everyone is coming from a different place, have different socio-economic conditions and childhood experiences. You have to respect this, and somewhere have to accept that most people are good at heart(beware of psychopaths) just that their life experience made them how they are. You will slowly start becoming sensitive to ppl.

aj_nikhil··on Show HN: Apio – Simple Application Monitoring for Node or Django
Yes, extra requests your server/application has to send(to Apio) will put load on it. This is just a start so we will have to see how can we optimize this. Maybe agent based solutions which are used by Datadog or Newrelic might be a better way than Middleware based solutions.
