I would have happily paid a few bucks a month for Reddit premium if they had decided to tie api access to that.

It seemed pretty obvious to me from one of the graphics that they would remove 32-bit mode as well.

What I really don’t understand are mandated tips. One of my favorite local bakeries implemented a 20% tip at checkout, whether paying cash, card or otherwise and then a screen comes up that allows you to tip extra.

Just raise your prices at that point.

This isn’t the point of the article. The point is that you can’t share your data with your friends without sharing that data with Google the company as well.

I fucking hate deep linking on iOS. That opens the medium app and nothing useful in it.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t this also allow for caching across sites? Meaning that once one site requests react@16.13.1 the browser should cache it so that once the user goes to another site that asks for the same version then the browser should serve the cached version. This would be an acceptable trade off for me as far as the lack of code splitting and tree shaking goes.

Is this real and not sarcasm?

I like how Microsoft basically just acquired a whole slew of open source tools and no one seems to notice or care.

Love the readme.

haha regex engine go brrrrr

*written almost entirely in assembly language, he says so himself in the video.

Next step: sell all the DNA results to the highest bidder.

And firebase analytics is much the same as GA right? In fact I think it’s even viewed on the GA portal.

Maps on macOS already supports dark mode so it’s likely just a matter of time.

Cool dude. Why so salty?

I never claimed there wasn't a market, just pointing out that it's shrinking.

I haven’t used a mouse in over 6 years. My main driver is usually a laptop and even when I’m tethered to a desk with multiple monitors I opt for a trackpad (like Apple’s Magic Trackpad). Mice are dead to me.

privacy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What if I specifid the `global` scope, like `global.SOME_VAR`? Will that skip the expensive search of the parent nodes?

What happened to "do no evil"?

What on earth do you need a scientific study on? There are speakers in the headphones that produce audio. Where do you think the power for that comes from?

I'm supposed to respect and acknowledge future tech trends from someone that couldn't be bothered to have a mobile friendly site in the year 2017?

"None of the popular patterns promote the tight coupling between view and code."

Not sure how relevant this is either. React barely differentiates between view and code, opting to put everything in one place.

It's the word "largely" in "largely React-compatible API" that scares me.

And thus the understanding of humans.

Most native New Yorkers will disagree with you there.

Really great information here, thank you.

Reading his site on an iPhone is nearly impossible.

I have done several now and would highly recommend them to anyone who has the time (let's face it, ten days off is not exactly easy for some).

My first experience is documented here: https://medium.com/mindfulness-and-meditation/into-the-subco...

Do what's right for others and it'll be right for you too.

No, it probably flipped because it's a ridiculous and bad movie. End of story.
